DD who is 18 months ol (nealry 19 months) has started TT herself. It came as quite a shock to me, because she is so young and so little, but she is doing so well with it!
It started with DD and I watching television, and she randomly got off the couch and dragged me to the bathroom, where she tried taking off her pants and nappy, and then tried lifting up the toilet lid. So I thought I would humour her and put her on the toilet, and hold her so she doesnt fall into the toilet.
To my surprise she did a wee.
This happened the next day too, and ever since she has done a wee every time she has been on the toilet.
Only yesterday she did 4 wees in the toilet, and only 2 in her nappy. She understands me if I ask her if she needs to do wees, coz if she does she will respond by dragging me to the toilet. I ask her every hour or so. We now have a toilet seat for her too
So, are there any tips that you can give me, or does it sound like my DD is doing a great job already.
keep it fun -and maybe have some sort of reward system (like a sticker chart etc)
that, and consistency helped with us. what a clever girl you have!!
all the best
Fantastic! I'm not even sure you will need a reward chart .
One thing though - after reading an article about wees etc (sorry, I can't remember the words my brain has melted), it might be ok NOT to remind her to go. Best that she feels it herself and responds herself when her bladder is full, because that is the right time to go.
It might be time for a trip to the shop to buy some undies for your big girl. I love teeny undies, they are so cute!
