    tt someone elses kid.

i am a family daycare carer and i have a little boy that i look after he is 3.5 and still isnt toilet trained. he has absolutly no idea wats going on. he can tell me when he has done a wee or poo in his nappy but today i sat him on the toilet and told him he wasnt hopping off till he did a wee or a poo. i asked if he did a poo an dhe said yes when clearly he didnt.

i have got him to do a wee on the toilet a few times but it is usually like 2 drops then as soon as the nappy goes on he does the rest in the nappy. his mother couldnt just doesnt seem to care he isnt toilet trained everytime i mention it to her she says she doesnt wanna put up with him weeing on the floor or maing a mess, like i do.

should i even bother keep tryin if she isnt goign to do it at home?
it is just now that i am preg i am finding it hard changing him nappy on the change table. i am not ment to do it on the floor cause of our policies.

thats a hard one! im not sure if he would benefit from you teaching him, if he isnt being taught at home!

is there any rules or guidelines that you need to follow as a day carer that can help you?

poor bugger, how is he going to learn if his mum doesnt want wee on her floor!!

Oh the poor love but I have to agree with KB: if his mum won't teach him at home I can't see how he will pick it up successfully? Is there a lifting policy as being pg you surely can't be expected to be lifting a 3.5yr old all the time? Sending you love!

I'm not sure if you can say this but i would say to this mother if she doesnt start teaching him then he cant come there anymore. Especially when you have trouble changing his nappy on the change table.

Check with your council about the guidelines. they should be able to help you and back you up.
