What is with Huggies???

My DS is 15mths and is seriously leaking through his nighttime nappy.
I never had this problem with any of my other boys so I am sure it is the "New and improved" (yea right) huggies design.
He is just knocking on 13kg and was in the 13-18kg walkers which should be just fine for him but no go. So I have upped him to the 16kg and over junior size and last night he was soaked through again!!!
I dont put it on him till the last minute and I make sure it is quite high in the front as he is a tummy sleeper but I dont know what else to do .

I have tried the Aldi ones and find they are only good for day use with him is there any others that I can try for night time use???

That is the exact reason i refuse to use huggies!!

The coles select or safeway brand nappies are great!!!
i know, i know.. i was a bit hesitant using them at the start but i dont use anything else now!
apart from baby love when they are on special!

ETA - a friend of mine swears by the 'sorbies' nappies i think they are from coles? her son is a heavy wetter overnight too!

Hmmm I have no idea what could be causing leak but Im not really in the know when it comes to boy-bits

After trying about 6 different brands we are hooked on snugglers, they are similar to huggies except they dont have the elastisized bit at the back. You can get them from big w if your interested. They are much cheaper than huggies too.

Bella is 9kgs and in Huggies but she doesnt wet though touch wood! The only other thing I could suggest would be a Modern Cloth Nappy (MNC)Night time nappy - I am just looking into cloth myself so bear with me - they are a cloth nappy that has a really absorbant core of matterial especially fro night time - they are also made just like disposables so not like the old style cloth nappies - they are the same shape as dispoables just you wash then not throw them.
There are probably some night disposable ones out there - I have just heard form alot of the ladies on here with big night time wetters that MCN night nappies are great. There are also a few ladies on here that sell Night nappies so they can tell you more.

I have used Huggies and Snugglers and the Safe way select ones and they are all great = I just got a box of 108 Snugglers at Big W for $30 buck so they are on sale and great.

When DS was in sposies I found the coles brand (the you'll love coles brand, not the savings brand) were really really good. I used those through the day though, not at night. When DS started wetting quite heavy I had already switched to cloth so I can't help you there. But we did try snugglers and they were worse than huggies here for us.

Huggies & snugglers are made by the same company. Kimberly-Clark. Give them a call and tell them about the prob. They are pretty good at helping out.

I havent had a problem with them so far but I have heard more people have a prob if they have boys not girs. Weird hey.

Maybe its a pressure issue? Boys pee at a greater force than girls do, girls sorta.. trickle.. lol.. those boys are like a fire hose!! lol

I trust Huggies absolutely and have never had one leak on me except when my kids were close to outgrowing that particular size...but can you get hold of Pampers where you are?

Pampers are available at big Coles supermarkets (you won't find them at a smaller Coles, it would be one of those super-sized Coles IYKWIM). They are excellent and I like them better than Huggies. I am using BabyLove this time around because they fit my DD's shape better but I find I am changing them more often than Huggies, so I wouldn't bother trying those.

I have also heard you can supplement a disposable with a maternity pad LOL...?!?!

Yep... grrrr Huggies My 3yo needs to wear a pullup to bed (he used to get through dry until a recent illness, now he has "regressed") and I usually use Aldi pull ups... but recently we ran out and DH had to buy some Huggies Pull Ups from the local IGA. And they leaked nearly every night! Never again! Going to stick with Aldi!

You can also get snugglers at Franklins...

I have boosted a sposie with a hemp booster (from a mcn) and that can work, but you do have to wash the booster...

Another things I do is make sure DS has a good cover over his sposie at night, like a fleece MCN cover, and that can help a bit too. I know someone who uses covers from Target for her DD and they do the trick for her.

But, I find that if he has been wiggling when I put the nappy on, I can get leaks out the top (round the waist) and I think that comes from my not getting it all lined up cause of wiggly son.

I'm having the same prob but with ds3!

Lach is just hitting 6kgs and I've had to move him up 2 sizes as I hate it when they don't go around the body properly and he wets through on his hips! as soon as this box of huggies are finished I"m going to the "YOU'LL LOVE COLES" nappies find them to be excellent!

Yep... I think alot come down to body shape. You see some bubs have huge tummies and insy winsy butts... but my children are all slim around the waist... but fill out the butt area. It's like women who are apples and pears can't fit into each other jeans although they both might be size 12.

You might have had a bad batch of huggies. Ive posted many times with the problems I had with huggies because the old design ones worked the best on DD but the new design sucked.

However, I think they have changed it in the last few months because now I dont have that much of a problem (i still use the old huggies design for night time though).

Check the manufactured date and make sure you the most recent one.

Also, you can ring up huggies and tell them your problem. They have been really good and will send a replacement.

i think its sorbies they are only new they do a specific night nappy with extra lining and that. maybe try them if its only a night nappy

my Dd gets 14 hours out of a huggies over night and never leaks its falling off her before it leaks lol
