DD was about 2.5 if i remember right... i tried the pull up pants to start with but she just thought it was a nappy and just wet them even rewards wouldnt work, Then i just put her in knickers one day and she went to the toilet everytime including Poo's and i thought i would try her over night without a nappy 2 days later and she didnt wet the bed so 3 days it took me to get her out of day and night nappies.... It took me awhile to work out not to use the pull ups, I was using them for about 2 mths before trying just knickers so if i had of put knickers on her instead of trying the pull ups she mite have trained earlier........
So my advice is DONT use pull-ups LOL
Good luck with it...
We are in undies today, LOL. So far we have had 1 wee on the toilet and 2 accidents. In the past week, 5 out of 7 days she has done the poo on the toilet. And also some wees. So I decided to try it out and see how we go. DD is 2.4 years also.
A lady from our mothers group used a certain method to train her girls and she said it worked perfectly each time. The method was, to stay home for a week (well when you can) and keep them in undies all day. No changing over to nappies etc (except for sleep). She said the first day there were heaps of accidents, but with each day it got less and less and by the end of the week they were toilet trained. So this is what we are going to try.
With Kameron we did start around 2.5 and it was hard work, he was still in pull up at night till he was way past 5 cause he would just constantly wet the bed.
Lachlan on the other hand we decided we would leave, so we started training him the day he turned 3. 1 wee in the potty and he basically had it down pat, he was also night trained fully 2 weeks later. Was wearing jocks to bed for ages before Kameron finally got into jocks at night time.
Ashton, we will do what we did with Lachlan and wait till 3, unless he can tell us otherwise before then.
My DD1 is a week older than your DD and she has been TT during the day about 8 weeks. We are still working on nights. I tried about a month before and we had several accidents so after a couple of days gave up. The second time we had almost no accidents for the first week and then in week 2 we had some poo probs with her been scared to go on toilet. This only lasted a week and now she is really good. My biggest advice is to take a potty with you EVEVRYWHERE. So many times whilst driving my DD will decide she needs to go and she isnt very good at holding on. GL and theres no harm in trying if shes not ready you soon find out.
Thanks for all the replies ladies Its really interesting reading how people have gone about it. I'm thinking we might give it a go as of tuesday (she will be at my mums monday as i have to go to melb)...
