    Thanks for your help ladies, I do have some of the fleece liners and bambino mio ones too so I may as well start using them! I am glad this is not going to be an ongoing problem so I'll scrape and so forth and then look forward to a clean washing machine.

    I had this problem too, but it does get better when they reach toddlerhood - poo is much easier to scrape/flush then.

    Until that time you can help your machine by running a short wash/rinse cycle every now and again without anything in the machine, and over here in our part of the UK we have very hard water so every few months I would do a wash with a specific washing machine descaler - I know this helped with getting rid of any muck in the pipes too. I know the water in Australia is generally nowhere near as hard as over here, but you could always get your hands on some descaler or specific washing machine cleaner if needed.
