Hey I care Jols. Hehe. Now what's the thread about?!!

Ah covers. And the children. Oh the children.

I like my BBH wool ones....Caty's in a large though so not sure what'll happen when she pops out of that one though. I hear sugarpeas (or is it snowpeas? something peas) are good?

Hmmm. Maybe we need to make some ourselves. I still have that merino wool blanket.....but out of FOE. If I get off my butt I might try one or two....actually, I can try a HB cover so at least I have a pattern to work with. Hmmmmm. No FOE needed there. Just non-laziness.

Yeah but I don't think Sugarpeas come cheap either...like, I reckon I could hunt up some knitted woolies for that...

Anyone use Kozy design woolies? We've got a pair, but I haven't lanolised them yet...so we don't use them at nights...and I've heard they're only 4 ply wool, so potentially not up to the job?
Hehe, we should probably ask on NC, did you do that Jols? I'm STILL knitting a swatch for some longies...I think I should make a Large size...for Riv by the time I'm done!

ETA: Aww whoops, sorry for the double post! Preggo brain strikes! Feel free to merge me someone!

Is the problem with the rise covering the tummy or where the wing goes over the hip?

Is your cover the large one? I find it a bit odd that you have problems. Our large one is huge over the nappy.

In the middle front, large BBH wool cover, and the rise of the nappy and cover is exactly the same. So, no leaks yet, but for peace of mind, I guess I'd like something that goes OVER the nappy...does that make sense? Yeah, it's weird, I'm bamboozled as to why we're having troubles with a Large!
    It's fine at the hips.

I'm guessing the contributing factors might be that they're bulky nappies, being dedicated night nappies, and also that River's just eaten, so his tum is rather...um...rotund...okay well after dinner he's got a belly to match mine!

I'm trawling NC, according to Gigi, high rise wool covers include a Possom's Pouch wool soaker, and Click Clack covers...will update as I learn!

ETA: People have also recommended Disana covers. And sizing up a cover for nights. Oh, okay, also mentioned are Lotus, Stacinator, Lovey Bums, Bubba J, Very Baby...Lanacare...
    Good reviews for Click Clack...

I think my BBH wool covers might have shrunk. They have been on the small side for a while. But they have still being doing the job so I haven't worried too much.

I care, but am completely useless so what can I say, but sorry, no help here. (LOL).

Although somebody (I think it was Bridie) mentioned in the cloth nappy thread that the Sugarpeas had a decent rise when I asked her what they are like because I am considering getting one, once I get off my bum and actually do it, I'll let you know what they are like!

Okay, we've moved up to code RED (is that a bad one? It's supposed to be a bad one) - we had wicking onto the pj top last night.

Umm...thought I'd just mention that River is trying to stand on his head...

    It's a pain hey Jols!

Mel that is a completely awesome offer! And ooooer a baby carrier! You should probably get a non-pregnant person to give it a shot too, but it would be great if you were able to comment on how it fits with a belly too hey! The more info you can give customers the better!

I'm not in the headspace to consider driving today (Rans has been practically non-existent all weekend and yesterday, he's been having his last hurrahs, boys weekends and concerts), so today's my day to sit at home, and then boss him to do chores (like the flipping vacuuming) when he gets home. Plus I'm not the greatest driver when I'm pregnant. I'll give my brain some time to think though (it needs extra time these days) and see if I can't work out the logistics.

PMSL - would you believe that part of my rant to my mum about this problem was 'you know, I've got all this freaking wool and River's going to be 12 before I can knit gussets, I'm just going to have to send it up to Knitter Lady* and pay her to knit it all up for me!!'
And mum was like 'Knitter Lady?' and I'm like 'yeah, you know, she wrote a longies pattern'. And mum was like 'ahhh'. So you're famous down here.

And also pmsl, we borrowed a Large BBH wool wrap from Christy! That was doing fine, til SIMULTANEOUSLY, we got our BBH layby with wool wraps, and River had a growth spurt. :banghead: So, I've got to quickly send it back to Christy so she can use it before her bub grows out of it!

ETA: Oh poop, I said your name...okay, I'll call you...Knitter Lady.
