Hi guys, I am so glad I have found this thread.
When I had DD last September I started to suffer insomnia from the moment she was born (very torturous for a new mum, I know tears-of-Joy). I just could not shut down my brain. I also developed the baby blues really badly which never went away and although my ability to sleep slowly improved I was diagnosed with PND when DD was 3 months old.
I am currently on effexor which balances the seratonin levels in the brain and I have found it fantastic, however I am weening off this soon as I want to start TTC #2 in September.
So, to get to the point, i came to this forum looking for possible natural remedies that could 1 - help me sleep better when bub #2 is born and 2 - hewlp keep PND at bay.
Butterfly warrier, What you said about omega 3 is very interresting. it seems like it might help with both PND and sleeping issues? I do not eat fish so perhaps I shoudl start buying a suppliment. The Blackmores preg vitamins I use during pregnancy do have some omega 3's but perhaps I need more? Does anyone know the maximum dose of omega 3 you can have whilst pregnant and breastfeeding?
tears-of-Joy , sorry to invade your thread![]()
