    Smile Abby 25 weeks.

    Hi everyone,

Hi everyone my name is Michelle and I am new to this Forum. I had Abby at 25weeks plus 4 days on Boxing day last year. She now weighs a big 5.6kg and just started to roll over ** proud mum!!**. I had Abby at Royal North Shore Hospital in St Leonards where the staff were just fantastic. I live on the Central Coast and also have a son who is now almost three and of course insists that he knows it all!! I would love to chat to all.

    Hi Michelle,

I too have had prems at 21 & 31 weeks. They kinda run in our family coz my sis had her little boy @ 30 and she has just had her DD 4 weeks ago @ 26 weeks.

Its a rollercoaster ride hey! So happy to hear she is doing so well.

    Hi michelle,
Its good to hear that your girl is doing good. I just had my boy liam at 29weeks and have just started on the long journey. I know they have stages that they have to go down, but the stage im looking forward to is when he is moved to the hospital 15mins from my house, at the moment he is on the other side of town. Because i have a 10 month old daughter (erika) as well we can only make it up there every secound day and they are pretty short vists. So the sooner he gets to the lyell mcewin the better that he is one step closer to coming home.
Good luck with your little ones i hope things continue to go so well.

Hey shell and welcome to BB I am so glad that your DD is doing good. My sisters DP's DD was born at 23 weeks and she has cerebral palsy becasue of it. She is a cute little thing and has no mental problems just physical but she is now 6 years old and tlaking just like a normal 6 year old she can also walk but wobbles a bit. Some people don't even notice she has cerebral palsy which is great. I'm so glad though that your DD is well and can now roll over

    Smile Thanks everyone

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! yes what a journey we have had this year and really looking forward to Christmas when Abby is one!
I'm not sure why she came so early, I just started dialating (without contractions) and was in hospital for two weeks on bed rest and then started to get an infection so the they did a ceaser. The ob said "just one of those thing!!" Mind you, this is "one of those things" you always thought happened to someone else.
Kyla, yes it is really a struggle whith other children and going to hospital. I could only make it every second day as well until they moved her to Gosford (which is about 15mins from home) but whatever you do, don't feel guilty as your other bubby needs you as well!!! I was so excited when Abby graduated up to Gosford it all then went really quickly.
Abby was 830gm born and ventilated for almost 2 1/2 months, cpap then oxygen. She had an operation at Westmead to close her duct in her chest and then it was smooth sailing from then!!! We were lucky enough not to have her come home on any oxygen which made our jobs a lot easier.
She is just beautiful. Her physio is extraordinarily happy with her at this stage there is no signs of any CP and developmentally she is on track and above for her corrected age. Which is really reassuring .
I really love the set out of this forum and am looking forward to making some new friends! You will have to bear with me while i get used to using this. Where do i check for new messages once this thread runs out? Do you all jump in on new threads etc?
I will try an upload a picture of her as well!!

Shell if you go to the top of the page there is a New Posts button, I just click on that to see any new posts that have occured since I was last on.

Also if you know what part you are after you can just go to the Forum Jump on the bottom right of your screen and click there too.

Not sure if you have it set in your profile options or not either to get automatic notification of any replies to threads you have posted in. But that's another way to keep on top.

Good to hear that Abbey is doing so well. She sure does sound like a little fighter.

There is a members gallery at the top of the page where you can upload pictures to and then link it to your post if you want to share pictures. Or start your own babies webpage elsewhere and link to it.
