Hi all, just poking my head in here...

Already so very tired of being strong. I miss my baby girl who's down the hall in NICU when she should be in my belly still. Safe. Wasn't the safe place to be. It could have killed her. knowing that makes me feel like a crappy mum.

Spoken to the mental health nurse here and they r watching me. Closely. It's such a huge transiton. Surgery, being mum to a premmie babe... Trying to get better, being away from hubby, my mum and my independance has gone for 6 to 8 weeks. Have to rely on others to see my girly

...if you haven't seen my BA ... Amelia Jayde... She arrived on 30/11/11 at 10.43pm weighing in at a teeny 850 grams and had a HC of 24cm. Length of 33cms. Born by emergency c sec... We are both going fine at the moment though physically. And I've managed to express about 8ml from both boobies every 3 to 4 hrly.

Anyways gotta get some sleep before expressing again. X nite x

Thank you Early kids, Teresa and Charlotte for DD's birthday wishes

Congratulations again LD on the birth of your precious princess.
She is just a wee bit heavier than my little man, so tiny!
Glad that you are both doing ok at the moment, I hope you recover well and your little lady has a smooth journey through the NICU.
8ml sounds fantastic at this early stage, your milk would not have come in yet?
I found the LC wonderful, they were always there when needed.
If you are not expressing next to her, have a photo next to you, or a sheet she has layer on so it has her smell.

lynsdan - A huge Congratulations on the birth of Amelia Jade!!!

Well done with the expressing, I was lucky to squeeze 1ml out at this point, gosh that was after an hour of trying as well

Hi to everyone else - My little man will be officially 1 on the 8th of this month, he is weighing in a 9.5kg now, wow
He is doing well, but physically not meeting his milestones, he still can't sit up. How did all your little ones do developmentally, did they catch up eventually?

    Thanks

Lysndan - it sux and it's not fair.. I hope you have nice understanding nurses. Once you have recovered from your section, it will be better. Remember no matter what Amelia is YOUR baby, not theirs. It's so frustrating not being able to have control over your baby. I compensate by asserting control over what I can. I have his own sheets, and always do his cares. To others it's not a big deal, but to me it is. Just makes me feel a bit more like a Mum. Do what you have to do hun.. Well done on expressing. That sux too Lol.. I'm pumping 2-3hrly and I'm over it lol..

I can't wait to hear about your first cuddle when you get it. Hopefully wont be long xx

Well things are looking a little better. I'm looking at being discharged tomorrow from hospital. It will be hard leaving my girl behind though. I'm about an hour away from the hospital she has to be in. Shes so cute. So teeny. Daddy is starting to really bond with her too. Which is great and our love has never been stronger.

I'm so in love with my new premmie baby girl. Can't wait for cuddles.

I can't believe my girl is a week old today. It's going so fast even though I'm stuck here in hospital still until at least Saturday. My bp is just stabilised... Least the food here at KEMH isn't too bad.

    Hi

Melssy86 - just noticed your little man is about a month ahead of mine, and born at about the same gestation, by the look of your ticker. Just wondered how he has gone with meeting his developmental milestones? My little man is particularly lazy and still isn't sitting. Just curious.

ButterflyForever - Ds is nearly on par with normal 1 yr olds. at 12 months he was 50% for weight 90% for length (has always been long). Sits, stands by himself, Says mum dad nan no. He eats mainly solids. He took his first steps yesterday. He didnt sit properly until 10 months but around 11 months it was like something clicked and he just started doing a lot of things he hadnt before. The only issue we have is his eyes. Have to go back to pmh for eye test in jan. One of his eyes is slightly turned in on occasion. they dont think its anything serious but just want to make sure.
The paed did tell me though that boys can be quite lazy and he was for quite a while but once he got moving that was it.
And happy birthday to the little man

24 bradys today... Today sucks. They're all bradys without apnea though she snaps out of it without intervention thank god. A few destats but caffiene has been upped so hopefully that reduces the bradys etc...

They are also testing for infection. God I hope that if she has anything that it can be fixed quickly and she can be back to her self...

Please give me the strength to get through this... It's all so new and scary. I have cried so much today. I'm so scared for my little girl.
