We used cotton wraps as they were a bit firmer than muslin and then from about 9 weeks we used a flat cot sheet. Our DS was an expert escape artist too and would wake himself up if not wrapped firmly but the cot sheet works a treat!
With my first baby I swaddled him in muslin wraps (we were heading into summer) but it used to drive me mental because he was a wriggler and would get out of it in no time, then he would wake up because he wasn't snug.
My next one is due in November, so just wondering if the Grobag Swaddles are any good, from anyone who's used them? Are they too hot for summer? I've used the normal grobags with the toddler and they are great.

I used the grobag swaddle when DD was a newborn, but she was an escape artist too and could get out of it. The material seems to be stretchy, which I think was the problem. There was a thread going about different wrapping styles, with the angel wrap seeming to be one of the best. I can't find it, but one of the other members or mods may be able to locate it.
