I used an Amby baby hammock (Australian made ) for DS1 and it was brilliant. It was extremely easy to use and very portable. It packs up smaller than a portacot so it was great to take away on holidays. I used it until DS was nearly 2, but most people don't use them that long!

There is a thread on baby hammocks that you may find useful here: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...mocks-2-a.html

    baby hammocks

    Thanks Trish
I hadn't realised there's already a thread on this subject. Glad to hear the Amby is Australian and not yankee
It doesn't seem as though anyone has used the Nature's Sway though - I'm definately sold on the hammock - just wanting to know the relative merrits of each IYKWIM.....

I've just started using an amby baby hammock (for approx 1 week now.) as DS#2 has really bad wind and so far he seems to be sleeping better and isn't waking up screaming like he was when he was in his bassinet which I used for the first 2 weeks

they say you can use them for approx birth - 12 months depending on baby weight and length
the amby hammocks cost approx $300+ but you can also hire hammocks as a cheaper option, so it may be worth a look

    good luck
