    yup oricom rock!!
and just so you know girls- the batteries in mine were losing their charge so i emailed oricom and they said that any after market batteries were fine
went to **** smith and bought some new ones for $9!!! and it works a treat!!
batteries has lasted me at least 10 hours before i have to recharge it!!!
and also girls if you get the monitor with one parent handset, you can buy and hook up another handset anytime- just purchase them through oricom
Definately the best monitor i have used ( this one is my fourth! LOL)
Just looked at their web page and the extra parent handset can not be worked with the 500 model

Just wondering if anyone can answer why my music on the unit turns off after a while? i would like it to continue to play, has this happened to any other Oricom 500 users?

I'm pretty sure in the instructions it says it will only play for around 15 mins (don't quote me on it) and you can either repeat the one tune or all of them for those 15 mins or so? I'd check but the manual is in DD's cupboard and she's snoozing far too happily for me to risk waking her! Not sure why they've done it that way, maybe figuring that's the average time frame needed to soothe bub?

I do play them when I want to run the handset batteries flat though and often wish they'd go for longer, but I'm not a huge fan of them otherwise

I have a small ipod dock in the bedroom separate to the monitor...it plays soft music continuously 24/7 so that whenever we go in there which is only at nappy changes or nap times he gets the cue that it is quiet time...seems to wrok for us that way....

ahhh I forgot it could do that! So even with an external source it turns off? Hmmm that's disappointing. Hope they give you the way to get around it
