we didnt get enough wondersuit type thingys for bubs to sleep in. they tend to sleep alot in the first weeks and we found those all in one sleep suit things really good (target do really nice organic cotton ones, which is really nice on newborn skin).

and singlets! we used heaps of these...

baby towels to wrap their snuggly lil bods in after a bath...

our big post baby emergency purchases included, comfy nursing tops, breastfeeding pillow, sling and a moses basket...wish i had them to go before we got home!

    HTH!

Well given its the Christmas Sales coming up, I don't think its premature at all!

Our emergency purchases included: bin for the nappies (pedal bin the easiest, I still use it for my cloth nappies!) and bottles, pump & steriliser. I so wanted to BF that I had no bottles ready and needed them for formulae and also for expressing. Oh yeah, I forgot the bath thermometer!

    Good luck!

Are the wondersuits needed only in winter? We're due in just under a month and as of yet I haven't bought any - should I be going out and getting some?

I really like the look of the slings but theyre like $90! I think it would be too much of an extravagant purchase seeing as we have 3 of the baby carriers already!

I would get some wondersuits (long sleeve) as even during summer you still get the odd cool night.

Oh also one more thing... a nappy stacker... does it just do what it says on the tin? I've only seen them packaged in shops so cant work out what their purpose is? Is it just for the clean nappies?

    I still need the following:
    - nappy bag (for the pram)
    - bottle carrier
    - car window shade
    - car mirror so I can see bump without having to turn around
    - grooming set
    - bottles & teats
    - breast pump
    - first aid kit for babies
    - book of childhood illness
    - wedge matt incase he has reflux and needs to lay a bit upright
Still so much and still have to finish DH Christmas shopping and his Bday which will be January 8th! Aggrrhh!

nth wrong with askin in advance im still in the process of makin sure ive got everything even thou bub is already 2mths (oops). Still need to find a way to store/organise my cloth nappies...Sposies just stay in the pack until i pull them out to use. The stacker just makes everything neater i spose

anywyz i found havin a hand sanitiser (the dettol ones) handy as bub like to feed a bit more after changin so dont have to run to the bathroom and also bum cream (lucky the bounty bag had a sample so i didnt hv to make a mad dash to the supermarket)

Brunette01- I have the web adddress of a place where you can get awesome slings for about $70. You can use them for ages, so personally I think they're totally worth it. They're far better than the front carrying ones. Let me know if you want the address and I'll pm it through.

Wraps.. I seriously coudln't get enough of them.. I used them to cover bub when outdoors to protect from wind and sun.. Over her car seat, in bed due to it being summer and not needing a blanket

I have one of those tommee tippee bins but unless you have a proper change area set up I think they are more annoying then anything. they are good though and the refills last for ages..

a high chair. for when bub just wants to see you.. Wheel it thru the house and it can go at your level..

A decent rocker or swing type thing.. but I recommend waiting till bub is here for a swing so you can go to the baby shop and try it out.. putting bub in and out I mean

oh and one for you.. nice smelling bath soap. good handwash (lots of handwashing required) and definetly a decent handcream. sorbelene did the job for me.. my poor hands tok weeks to stop getting cracked
