Brunette01- I have the web adddress of a place where you can get awesome slings for about $70. You can use them for ages, so personally I think they're totally worth it. They're far better than the front carrying ones. Let me know if you want the address and I'll pm it through.
Wraps.. I seriously coudln't get enough of them.. I used them to cover bub when outdoors to protect from wind and sun.. Over her car seat, in bed due to it being summer and not needing a blanket
I have one of those tommee tippee bins but unless you have a proper change area set up I think they are more annoying then anything. they are good though and the refills last for ages..
a high chair. for when bub just wants to see you.. Wheel it thru the house and it can go at your level..
A decent rocker or swing type thing.. but I recommend waiting till bub is here for a swing so you can go to the baby shop and try it out.. putting bub in and out I mean
oh and one for you.. nice smelling bath soap. good handwash (lots of handwashing required) and definetly a decent handcream. sorbelene did the job for me.. my poor hands tok weeks to stop getting cracked
Wow ladies some great suggestions there some I would never had thought of too I do have a Medela breast pump (needed it to express for Niki) its a little ripper but spent $$$$ for it I guess its an investment for the future.
We loved the hand sanitizer the that NICU dept used that we have a stash of it, I was also training to become a Nail Tech so have plenty of hand sanitizer stored away in the cupboard.
I figured that because I have lots of furnishing things that I could wait and tell people singles, wraps, bibs etc for pressies when we get to that stage I can't buy everything I s'pose
Keep the ideas/suggestions coming I am creating a "needs list based on your info and I am sure others will be grateful for the suggestions also
I found our rocker to be really useful. We axtually borrowed it from a friend. It was really good to have so Claire could lie down in the rocker and see us while we were doing stuff around the house.
Also, I found socks to be needed. Or pants with feet. Becuase her feet got so cold all the time and she got upset.
Allow me to be the first to 'plug' this if you are going with cloth MooGoo Soothing Cream! Nappy rash doesn't visit in this house very often and DS is teething and we're fine. I've also used it on scrapes and cuts of his and my own eczema and I personally love it! Doesn't hurt your nappies like barrier creams, smells yummy and does a great job!!
Not sure if you really need it but I bought a touch lamp for Molly's room. I found the lower setting great at night to change her nappy and feeding as it wasn't bright to wake her but was bright enough for me to see what I was doing. KWIM?
