I had a cot for MJ, i want planning on a c/s but ended up with one.
I cant say that i had any trouble at all putting her down or picking her up at any point.
We had a Cot that had an adjustable height so it was not on the lowest setting.

I will be doing the same this time around, regardless of whether i get my VBAC or end up with a c/s

    Hope this helps

I had a bassinet but DD ended up co-sleeping with us after night 2 anyway. I actually recovered pretty well from my c-section so bending wasn't a problem. Although you may find it a bit sore, it might not be the huge problem that you think it will

Hehe, the pain relief they give you is pretty good. I was lying in bed just imagining myself springing out of bed when they took my catheter out. I have to say, it was sorer than I thought BUT that only lasted a day and when you're in hospital, the bassinets are just the right height to manage yourself. Just make sure and take it easy when you're in hospital - let the nurses help you!

    Good luck!

Thanks so much. I am already speaking to my OB about pain relief right now as the idea of a suppository worries me. Will let the nurses do as much as they can! I am soaking up all the advice I can atm. Thanks. : )

I 2 c-secs and had a bassinette, but that was more for ease of moving bub around through the day/night while they were asleep.

The 2nd time, I raised the cot base, which also didn't require too much bending over.
