I plan on DS being in cot until 20 months or there abouts and then putting him into a king single.

As this way he doesnt get moved out of cot as soon as new baby arrives but also sees baby in bassinet and then after 3 - 4 months into cot, by this stage he should be happy in his big boy bed.

My other issue will be he has been in grobags since 9 weeks how do kids go whne put into a bed with a doona. As currently he is always warm and can move where ever he wants.

That's the thing though Feeb, DS is getting too big for his grobag and really does seem restricted. He loves pillows and the doona in our bed so I think he is ready.

Oh ok as DS is tall but seems to be ok still in 6 - 18 month size so far, we have some dreambags as well maybe they are a bit longer not sure.

DS when i our bed plays peek a boo with doona!!

    Good luck with transition

My DD2 has been in a big girl bed since 15 months. She wants to be with her big sister, who is 2, and simply wouldn't settle in a cot anymore.

We got both the girls a bed frame from Freedom - cost $150 each on sale - and then a good mattress from Bedshed. DD2 has bed rails that we got from Toys R Us.

I think a king single is a great idea. We spend a good deal of time in one or other of the girls' beds and the extra space would be nice - and if its like that now imagine what it will be like with a 5 year old!!
