We never had a capsule, just straight into the car seat. We only had a little car then so it would have been a PITA trying to get the capsule in and out anyway. She was fine in the car seat with the newborn insert in it.

I've done it both ways. DD1 went straight to a car seat and it was perfectly fine. DD2 I hired a capsule so I could put her down to put DD1 in the car. Otherwise I think DD1 would be running off down the driveway as I tried to get her sister in the car.

DS went straight into a car seat when we bought him home from the Hospital as i had a c section. we knew from 20 weeks that i would be having a c section so we thought that it would be much easier for me to get him in and out of the car in a car seat rather then try and lift a capsule in/out of the car and carry it around. it worked out much easier too. no fiddling around after a few months with trying to put the car seat in as it was already there.HTH
