We planned on putting DD in her room straight away but after having her in the SCN I couldn't do it. We got ourselves a portacot with a bassinet level (we knew we would use it over and over again). Put that in our room. This worked well for us. I didn't see the point in buying a bassinet for a limited amount of time given our lack of storage.

My DS was in his own room from day 1. I found I couldn't get any sleep when he was next to me. He did make into our bed a few times, mainly early morning (after 3am) when DH was at work and he wouldn't resettle, sometimes he would settle if I lay next to him. That stopped at about 6 months when he started kicking me out of bed lol!

DD was in our room for a few months in a basinette. When she was starting to grow out of that I moved the basinette into her room, then transitioned her to the cot. I figured moving room and bed at the same time was too much for her

We borrowed a bassinette & had that in our room, with the intention of moving her into a cot in the room she 'shares' with DS2 once she was too big. When the time came I found I just wasn't ready to have her there yet, so we moved the cot into our room & she's still there....whio knows how long for?

we hadn't intended having DD in our room for very long - but she doesn't sleep well if we're not around, and i don't sleep well if she isn't nearby. i guess it's a part of the anxiety that i suffer - but it's just easier to have her in with us. she will eventually move into her own room - but for now, it's working for us so we're all good!

don't have thoughts set in stone on what you want and dont want when your bub arrives - reality is, you'll do what works, not what you think you SHOULD do! it's much easier to do it that way - having a bubba is setting your life into fluid motion - you just gotta roll with it!

Our little man is always in his own room. We live in an apartment so it's not too far in the middle of the night to feed / settle. Our son is also very noisy and I don't think I could sleep with him in teh same room as me.

DD was only in our room for a few weeks because she was the noisest sleeper that shekept me awake so I moved her to her room for my own sanity. DS is nearly six months and is still in our room and I can't seethat changing any time soon. Like the girls have said you will do what works for you and bubby.

I'm going to be letting baby sleep in a bassinet at night time in our room but have her in her own room and cot for naps through the day.
