Did you wash your car seat?

In preparation for the next baby I am upgrading DS to a bigger car seat.
I have no idea which one to get so any recommendations for a 2.5yr olds seat would be great

But do you wash the baby seat cover? or dry clean it? or what?

I have always just vacuumed it but its looking a little shabby... so i want to clean it up and revert it back to the capsule. its one of those that change...

How do i go about it?
If i try and undo the straps etc surely i wont be able to put it back together.... any ideas?

What car seat do you have now? I have the SnS Meridian and it all comes apart and is amazingly easy to put back together! I've been fiddling with it since DS was born to adjust size, straps etc.

We have no 2 due in July and are upgrading DS's seat to the Maxirider AHR - bought it on line and waiting for it to arrive. He'll be two when new bub comes and it starts as a front facing and converts to a booster seat.

Yep, I wash mine all the time. Just chuck in the machine.
I have also guerney-ed the plastic shell. Its easy, just take it out of the car and see how it all goes together.

Undo the straps at the back and the cover should just unclip. Our seats have been washed, showered and gurneyed after a couple of chucky kids.

We wash ours constantly. They have been peed, vomited, pooed and who knows what else on. I just pull them apart and throw them in the washing machine and hang on the line to dry.

I have washed probably hundreds of car seat covers (because of my business!) and I just throw them in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. They are really easy and straight forward to get back on . When in doubt, take a photo of the straps at the back of the seat before taking it apart and then you can refer to it when putting it back on.
