Holy grail of prams

I'm starting a bit early, but it's so much fun to look for a pram!
I have a steelcraft strider deluxe, I'm not sure I really like it enough to use for the next baby.
it's quite heavy and cumbersome.

Hoping somebody can recommend me a pram that meets my requirements.

Lightweight
Folds in one piece
Not to wide
Big basket
Can be used from newborn
Faced either way
adjustable handle (for DH)

I don't ask for much do I

Even if your pram only ticks some of those boxes- let me know

Mine only meets a few of those requirements, but I highly recommend the Stokke Xplory to anyone who will listen. It's a fabulous pram, handles like a dream, very versatile it height of the seat and handle, forward or rearward, doubles as a highchair...it also looks lovely

Where do you put your shopping?

For a cheaper pram the steelcraft cruiser is good. Ticks all the boxes, but if you have it facing you you have to take the seat off to fold it. I bought mine 2nd hand and it's been great... for carrying the shopping lol! I am a baby wearer and the only time DS is in the pram is if I'm sitting having lunch lol.. No i have used it for him occasionally

Bugaboo bee + with the newborn cocoon will do all that and more......we love love love our bugaboo! One piece fold, reversible seat, lightweight, the seat grows with the child, reasonable basket size, narrow, sooo maneuverable it's scary!

We love love love our Baby Jogger City Select. Definitely worth checking out .

Bugaboo Cameleon does all of that except the one piece fold. It's pretty simple to whip off the seat for the fold though...

Is the city select wide?

The accessories for the bugaboo are so expensive!
It looks quite flimsy in the pictures.

It has a shopping bag attached,but it's not big. But, the great thing about such a high pram, is that you can easily tie up to 4 or 5 (depending on how full) plastic shopping bags to the handle, right near the seat. Works a treat.

I have the Steelcraft cruiser system too. For DS I bought the bassinet attachment, this time we bought the capsule attachment so we have the full travel system (eg the capsule clips out of the car, and clips into the pram without disturbing bubs. I must say that I LOVE my pram, its versatile and for the price you are getting a lot. I think you can only buy it at target

Lightweight - Yep, very light
Folds in one piece - It does if the seat is forward facing, but with it facing you, or with the bassinet attachment or capsule attachment you need to remove that first (not really that big a deal)
Not to wide - The back wheels are wider than the front, but I've never had trouble fitting through checkouts etc
Big basket - Yep
Can be used from newborn - Yep
Faced either way - Yep
adjustable handle (for DH) - Yep, 3 heights, my DH is very tall and it suits him, he doesn't have to bend over at all

I've recently bought the Strider Plus and a friend of mine bought the City Select.
The 'Select' is slightly narrower and lighter than the Strider Plus (not sure how different it is to a Deluxe.)
The Strider Plus isn't too heavy with just the single seat -or the frame with the capsule (that's my main use atm)
I bought the 'Plus' because of the toddler seat. Oh and I think with the City Select you might be able to have both seats or capsules facing you -but I might be wrong.

One of the lightest smallest folding prams out there is the City Mini, I like it but it doesn't fit properly in the boot of my Old 7 seater 4wd.

Are you wanting something with a single or double seat?

Also a good place to check out some second hand prams is a website called 'Australian Baby Bargains' it's a not for profit site.


BTW: I think your wish list is quite reasonable -you should have seen one my friend had, lol the only pram that suited would have cost her $3K

I've seen one that may tick the boxes.

Made the mistake of looking at a US website, they have heaps of great looking prams!

I have a chicco cortina travel romantic (travel system) and absolutely love it.

Adjustable handle, large basket (I've fit a heap of shopping in), capsule clicks into pram and car so no need to wake bubs, lightweight, folds into 1 piece, easy to push (my DD has pushed it around, and I've also managed it easily with her standing on the front and holding on). I fit through normal doors and check outs no issues.

Definitely worth the cost for me

I like this pram- could you tell me what the sunshade is like?
Does it have a drink holder for me?
