    Question Lets talk prams

We have currently a great swallow Beema complete with bassinet attachment. Its a great pram but when I brought this (second hand) I was not thinking "down the track". Now that we have DD I have started thinking a little bit further on to when we start TTC #2 which will hopefully be the end of this year.
My pram does not have the capacity to carry two children so I am thinking of upgrading to one that does (much to DH dismay) and I am hoping to buy one new.
Went into a baby shop yesterday and the sales woman suggested the "Baby Jogger" because it needs to be great on gravel because all the places i walk with dd are on both good and bad gravel syrfaces, i had also been looking at the Phil and Teds ones as well.

Who has one of either of these?

please tell me the pros and cons of yours

    Cheers Nae x

Naenae I have the babyjogger city elite it is so easy to fold in 1 movement and better quality feeling than p&t which is what I was tossing between also. The toddler attachment is better too in my opinion as it is up off the front of the pram and looks comfy. The bad thing is bubs cant see me so gets a bit upset but is getting better. Id like to get the saddlebags or a bit more storage but other than that i love love love it!

    Gl in convincing dh lol

I also have the Phil & Teds Dash. It's a great stroller and I use it with both my girls. I haven't seen the other jogger - it'd be worth having a look at both if you can and wheeling them around to see what you like best.
The P&T does sometimes feel a bit unsteady to me - there were times going over big bumps that I knew if I hadn't have had a good hold on the stroller it would've tipped. But I can't think of a situation where I wouldn't have had a good hold on it. And for level ground I find it absolutely super and it steers like a dream.

I have a P&T Vibe and I looooooooooooove it. I have no complaints about it other than the toddler seat is a little short. I love that it has a push button on the handle for the brake, which always comes in handy, it can take a little getting used to though as it is easily bumped but we're used to it now.
Almost everytime we take DS2 & DD2 out in it someone stops us to compliment our pram, and we have had many pregnant women ask about it also. I was worried I would regret it but it is truly the best pram for me right now

I have friends with both the P&T and the Babyjogger, and they all love them both! Apparently the Babyjogger is AWESOME for all-terrain stuff

We have the Valco Runabout 2. Have had it for 6 years and on our third child. DH runs with alot it and we have the toddler seat on the front which is just the best!! We have had no problems with it other than a flat tyre which we got a replacement tube from the local baby shop on the spot and the local bike shop fixed a spoke for us. When we first moved here the footpaths were terrible or non existent and this pram just goes 'outback' no problems.. I am still using it with our DD and our sometimes quite lazy DS2 in the toddler seat. As nattyfred said the only draw back is baby can't see you but that hasn't been an issue with us. The other positive is this pram turns around on 20cm coin (so to speak) and you can also have the front wheel so it doesn't swivel (for when you run with it). Only downside is it doesn't fit through a normal aisle at the supermarket, you have to use the diabled aisle or express aisle that tend to be a bit wider.

Other thing is you may want to check it fits into your boot when folded..easy to fold but doesn't fold totally flat.

    True to form..another long post

    Good luck

I'm going to be buying the Baby Jogger City Elite on the recommendation of 2 friends who both love it. I've been able to have a test of it and it is an amazing pram. And has the capacity to hold 2 kids and has loads of other cool features!

They are quite expensive here, but I have an American website that has them for half the price that you get them here (my friend got hers on there through ebay), and even with shipping it is still way cheaper. PM me if you want the details!!

OMG Sue that website was AWESOME thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you

Shipping was exxy but I got heaps of extra stuff and all in all it came to roughly $860 US so with the current exchange rates it STILL worked out a tonne cheaper then buying it here in Aus.

DH is going to kill me though because he thinks its unnecessary BUT wait til nunber 2 comes along then he will be thanking me for planning ahead

I had the phil and teds vibe.. I loved it with one kid.. but with 2 was awful.. 2 kids are not happy in it.. as the bar hits the back of the toddlers head, and the front is fine.. not enough room underneath. I have since bough a Bob Jogger in Canada.. LOVE IT.

I have the babyjogger City Elite and I can't recommend it enough. I was tossing between the P&T and the BJ, but BJ won hands down as it seemed MUCh more sturdy, more manouverable to me, and the quick fold is the best thing ever.

I also bought it for 'down the track'. I do have a problem now though that my down the track wasn't soon enough for DS to fit into the toddler seat (just because of weight range).....but I have made a friend at BabyJogger who sent over a rain cover for me to singapore, who tells me that this year they are bringing out a skateboard for it, which will solve my problem for DS and the new bub.

I will also be buying a MaxiCosi (baby will be able to face me this way ) - Living in Singapore with no car so need something safe for Taxis...which fits onto the pram also with another attachment. The sun cover is the BEST I've ever seen too....makes sense in a climate like Australia!

    Good luck with your choice
