Just putting it out there Holly, Si started rolling back to tummy at 2 weeks. So while I would be surprised if mattress protectors were a danger, it's best not to make sweeping statements - every baby is different.

hence why i said that if you baby tummy sleeps get a moniter. if a baby face plants the mattress and leaves it there its going to suffocate eventually with or without a mattress protector.
