Nursery theme not sure what to do!

I have a sort of jungle animal theme but not any of the ones out there. I painted a pic in his room that I actually did for Izzy, bought an animal mobile from ebay and we have a big giraffe pic on the wall too. I found once bub was born then things fell into place and as they get older it changes a bit too from baby to toddlerish if that makes sense! Keep it simple with simple colours and you can add and change it as you feel like it!

For Harrison, we had stars as a theme, but tried to keep it to white with silver stars until he was born and we knew he was a He.
There are so many cute things that come in a star theme. I just saw the cutest bookshelf & draws from toys r us with stars cut out... too cute! Would have been perfect for us!

I have green walls and I used the bear themed stick arounds so cute so gender neutral and so utterly lovely then I with linen etc I just bought what ever

This would have to be my #1 choice i think. I keep going back to this as teddy bears are so easy to find things for.

Do you need a theme? I wouldn't get too stressed about it.

In the end the decoration early on is purely for you anyway. So, go with what you like. It doesn't matter if you really like the teddy bear wallies and the star sheet set and then find a really cool whatever for the floor. Think about any other room in your house, are things there because they match or are they there because you like them, and because you like them they go together whether they technically match or not.

Ages ago I bought curtaining material for the "nursery" that is a blue sky background with really bright hot air balloons on it. It will almost look as if the hot air balloons are outside the window when the curtains are closed (should I ever actually get around to making them up). There isn't going to be a theme as such, just things that I like - so I suppose in one way my theme will be "ecclectic"

With DS I had a cross stitch pattern I fell in love with that was all jungle animals. So I did the cross stitch and based everything around that. I found jungle stck arounds that were orange, yellow and lime green predominantly so followed on with those colours, buying lemon sheets, apple green blankets, a green jungle lamp and laundry hamper, and lots of soft jungle animals to sit on his shelf. I aslo covered some boxes with jungle print fabric as a feature, and made a matching cot organiser. MIL gave him green/lemon butterflies to hang over the change table so it all came together well.

This time I used the colour of the furniture to inspire me as we are using the same stuff. It's all dark brown wood and the rocking chair has beige cushions. I decided I needed another colour that went with brown and beige and picked deep red. Also found a chocolate teddy bear and then decided that the theme would be teddy bears, as the browns and beige's of their fur goes so well with the furniture and red feature wall. I am making soem wall hangings and a little bear mobile to hang oevr the cot. Using a beige cot blanket, cream sheets and embroidering chocolate bears with red bows on them.

You know ... girl or boy ... with mint green walls ... I personally would go for a Bug's life theme.

Little catipillars, ants, ladybugs, frogs, leaves, praying mantis ... even some birds ... bees, moths, what you call the ones with the long wings that live in the water (darn pg brain) *think-think-think* .... .... hmmmm .... gosh .... DRAGONFLIES!!!!!

I have a 19 month old dd and she is CRAZY over worms and bugs

Also ... Jungle Book goes with green walls .... Fairies (if you have a girl) ... Daisies (I love daisies)

A star theme,i hadn't thought of that. There is a bedding set that even has bibs to match at Target i like. It's white & has a silver star embroided into it.
