    A sling

I think the best thing to do would be to visit the hugest baby stuff shop in your area and explain your dilemma to them. They will usually let you put prams in your boot to check that they fit.

I agree with Onyx to go to baby store as they will be able to help you try them in car.

Mclaren vouge stroller lies flat and can be used from newborn.

i have the exact same problem!! for a few months i undid one of the straps to get the pram in and out, not ideal but it worked, i then purchased maclaren vogue which fits under one strap and lays slightly over the other, goes in diagnonally

I have a maclaren and its awesome, cos its a stroller its so light and tiny - hardly takes up any space at all. And I love the fact that it does newborns up to toddlers - awesome! And bonus - its 5kg. More awesome.

Not that I used it for a newborn, and probably never will, I use a carrier, and put toddlers in strollers.

i had the same problem with my hatch that i had when the twins were small- i had to undo the straps each time i had to get the pram in and out and then do it back up again- a PITA by doeable
had no choice at the time as i had to use a twin pram!
but then again i used to fit a twin jogger pram in and out of the back of a barina hatch lol!
    things we do!

Thanks so much for all the suggestions!! Soooo don't want to have to undo the strap each time.. what a pain. I've looked at the McLaren Vogue and it looks pretty good.. so might investigate it a bit more. Will go to the baby shop and ask them.. but really hope to pick up a second hand one.. it's an expense we certainly weren't counting on!
