My DS isn't that old, and i'm assuming he'll be walking most of the time by then too.. but we have had a LOT of use out of our toddler seat. Sometimes I wish we had a double pram (especially if we're out all day, coz then both of them could sleep iykwim). We have a Valco runabout with the toddler seat on the front. It's very convenient, and I just leave it folded up on the front when not using it. The only things I have against it are in the heat of summer there's no sun protection for the toddler, and yeah, he can't really sleep in it. But it has worked very well for us
