Target Baby Sale - product opinions pls

Hi All - well target are having a big sale and i would like some opinions on some of the items

    Pram/Travel System - Steelcraft Cruiser

DH likes the strider system and this is (the cruiser) considerably cheaper ($539 vs $900). I really like P&Ts as they can "grow" and have better wheels but am willing to buy this later.

Safe-n-sound Guardian car seat (online not in catalogue) $259 - save $70. We were looking at the more $$$ safe-n-sounds ($500) but will also have crusier capsule - is this safe enough - we can put it in Gandpa's car too while we use the capsule.

Angel Care monitor $149 save $50 - worth the expense for peace of mind?

Mothers Choice Penguin Parade High Chair $79.50 (half price)

If you have the catalogue and see any other good buys- please any advice gratefully received! I plan to laybuy!

We have the Angelcare baby monitor and I reckon it's worth every penny.

I can sleep easy knowing it will sound if he stops breathing. It's gone off a couple of times when he's been at the very ends of the cot so the monitor can't pick up his breathing - which is reassuring as we know it works! However, we've had to test it to ensure the ceiling fan doesn't 'trick' it. So keep that in mind if you use a fan in bubs room...

Can't help you with the rest except to say we bought our high chair from IKEA for about $35 and it's fantastic. We can even pack it up and take it with us if we need to!

Good luck! It's a minefield out there

We got their catalogue in the letterbox the other day- thought I might at least go and check out, because I think you are able to put stuff on layby as well?

Sorry to invade your thread..but I have a question...I noticed you can save a fair bit on their baby clothes, but *sorry this is probably a really dumb question* what size would you need to buy for a newborn?? Or should I get a few in each size?

I totally agree.... even with the fan bit! I now leave DS's blankets off & fan off unless he really needs the fan (I turn it off on my way to bed so the room is cooler by then)

I think its definately worth the money for the peace of mind, especially if you have a tummy sleeper like me!

When buying a pram I really recommend looking at whether or not you're going to have more children and how far apart they'll be. Unfortunately I didn't really consider this and bought a pram that can only accommodate one bubba - now that we're having another I'm going to have to buy another pram that can have two! (Even though they'll be 2yrs 4 months apart DS will still need naps that that stage)

A friend of mine has the Steelcraft Strider Take Two (which can take a toddler seat) - it's an older model but still quite new and relatively cheap (I saw it for $399) Toddler seat is $99 extra. The seat is massive and can hold my 20 month old fine (he is big for his age too). I highly recommend it - this is the one I am buying next.

    Happy shopping!!

Fiona - I didn't see the double strollers at our store.

I got a Fisher-Price car seat $149.50, save $149.50. We are going to put Harrison in the Fisher-Price one and the bub in his one because the F-P one has a higher back, Harrison's head is already at the top of his carseat. A Royal Potty $25 save $25. Baby carrier $29.99 save $20. Saved $195 I'm happy.

I only just got the catalogue in the mail and am soooooooo excited by this. I need to get DP's card tomorrow so I can go shopping. Just have to convince him to give it to me!!!!!!

Annoyed at the price of the car seat as we have the F & P one sitting in our lounge room still in the box. It was a gift but I know for a fact that the people who got it for us paid full price for it as they gave us the receipt in case it wasnt the one we wanted.

    My wishlist is
    -Avent ISIS breaast pump
    -Avent bottles
    -microwave steriliser
    -Roger Armstrong bath seat
    -portacot
    -bright starts swing
    -nappies

Fingerscrossed DP says I can go shopping!!!!!
