    What brand monitor?

What brand baby monitor do you recommend? I currently have a Tomy Walkabout Premier monitor and have some difficulties with it. I like to use a monitor as both our bedroom and the twins room are air conditioned and I can't hear them with the air con on. The Tomy monitor I bought off ebay so am not able to take it back but have found it difficult to get it to stay on a channel and once it loses the channel it searches for a little while then the parent unit starts to beep once it can not find the baby unit (not fun in the middle of the night ) The units are not that far away from each other with only a few walls in between them, but for the last four nights I have not been able to get it to work (and this has previously happened) I am thinking about going to get a new one and wondered what others have found worked well.

    Thanks in advance.

We have a roger armstrong one.

I have heard the angelcare montior is the best and if you have a target near you they have it on sale right no until Wed 21st and are selling it for $149 which is $50 saving on normal price. I have never heard a bad thing about htis monitor.

    hope that helps

    Hi kt,

I've got an Oregon Scientific monitor that I got from Target. $99, it's pretty compact and the parent unit hangs around your neck on a lanyard. It has the time and the room tempreture on it too. Our house is two storey and I spend a lot of time out the back in our garage where my studio is, and even with all that I very rarely have dropouts. I'd highly recommend it.

I have a Roger Armstrong too and after 4 years, it's still working well.

I did get an Angelcare monitor on sale at Target when I was prg with DS but when we brought him home it wouldn't work so we took it back. Am a bit reluctant to buy another one.

I've got an angel care monitor. I love it! It worked great with the sensor pads and now DD is older it works just as well without them as a normal monitor! Never had issues with the air con or anything like that!

Oooh that sounds good... the one drawback with mine is that you can always hear that it's on, iykwim... can be annoying.

That is great. Thanks girls. I am going to the shops tomorrow so will have a look. I have a question with the angel care monitors can you just get the monitor without the pad for the bed or can you only get them with the sensor pad thingy. I ask because I have two babies . I guess if it came with the pad I would just put in on DD bed as she stays in the one spot where DS moves around the place so it would be going off all the time I would think I just went and tucked him back in as he was up the wrong end of his cot facing the wrong way and curled up on his side

Yep you can buy the angelcare monitors without the pads. They are cheaper than the ones with pads.

You can actually buy an adapter thingy for twins. It has it on the Angelcare site..

but you can use it without the pads and I think ( could be wrong) you can buy it as justa monitor no pads
