Cause you're due in late summer (hot!!), I wouldn't get thick wraps, muslin/cotton ones only. And probably only about 4-5. And yep, the bigger the better! How warm is it at night there? If its warm, I wouldn't get too many warm onsies either, lightweight cotton or bonds suits. And bonds is a small fit so get sizes one size up from what you actually want. Unless you think bubs will be fairly small, I would start with 000, maybe a few 0000. My DS was in 0000 for about 2wks if that, then 000 for about 6wks, he's already pretty well out of 000 and into 00 , we could have sotten wawy with no 000. Generally while your at home you will most probably have bubs in a nappy and singlet/shirt. Unless you have air conditioning, then probably have some short sleeved suits for him. They usually need socks unless its fairly hot, so a fair few pairs of lightweight socks. Hmmm....some rags for spew rags, maybe use terry towelling nappies. Some towels and washers for bubs.
As he gets bigger have some 00 size jumpsuits for those days that are unexectedly cold, and maybe a light jumper/longsleeved shirts in 00. They grow so quickly, as I said my DS is in 00 and he's only 8 1/2wks old! DD wasn't as fast growing but was in 00 by about 10 or 12 wks, and only fitted in 0000 for about 3-4wks.
It might be a good idea to get a rocker/swing thingo so you have somewhere to sit bubs and something you can drag around the house while you do house work or shower etc....
Thats all I can think of!! HTH
i can recommend wraps with some stretchy material in them. that way it is harder for them to come off and bubs can sleep a bit better.
as for sizing i think the others are pretty smack on. bonds and bebe do small sizes. i would get a few suits in 0000 for those early weeks. if bubs is smaller (our DD was in 00000 for the first month! ) then you can go out and buy some when bubs is born).
they tend to get a bit of yuk on them with milk dribbles etc so enough for a couple of changes. i'd get a whole bunch of 000 bonds singlets. they are amazing and long-wearing. great for summer.
i also highly recommend a good floor mat/rug. for bubs to lie on. it's great when you start going to a mum's group as you have somewhere to pop bubs on the floor. we got loads of use out of ours (basically for the first 8 months until DD started crawling).
HTH and good luck! preparing for our bubbies is just so much fun!
I had bonds 00 singlets and Kmart brand 000 singlets and used them from the beginning. They were a bit big but came down over the nappy and prevented ride up of the singlet. I am still using them now for my 8.5kg DS, they are a bit smaller however. Ds was 3610g born (7lb15). I also had a couple of 0000 bodysuits from best and less. If you wait till they ar eon special you can pick them up for a few dollars. I also like th best and less all in one suits. I picked them up for $5 but they are normally only $7.99 I think. I also had some 0000 cotton on kids long sleeve bodysuits and pants. IT was pretty hot still when DS was born so he wore singlets and a wrap a lot.
