Ferrals Ella is beautiful. She looks so big and chubby now compared to the last picture I saw of her.
BW I am the same with knowing there is going to be a time when I wish I had a young child to snuggle with in bed so the fact my 4yr old still comes into us doesn't bother me. I too know it won't last forever and I'm soaking it up while I can! My MIL takes it as a sign of my sucky parenting (I'm sure she hates me with a pashion) but I remind her one day I will be old and will forever cherish those moments.
-
my 7 yr old still sneeks in!
-
My boys only slept in our bed when they were sick i just can not for the life of me sleep with babies/kids i dont sleep i lay there and toss and turn i make up for it with lots of cuddles and snuggles and playtime and i would love to cuddle them off to sleep but i just dont want to make it difficult to get my babies to sleep for others like babysitters or DH when i have always gone back to work so i have always taught my babies to self settle i will cuddle and rock/pat them until i see the eye droop happening or they get the tired grizzle then i put them in bed and off they go.
Ella slept from 8pm until 4am we are almost there 2 more hours to get to 6am i have 8 weeks until i go back to work so i have plenty of time to work on that.
any chance you ladies can post a link with pictures of your kiddlets it would be nice to see i have seen 2 of mildez's girls and murrycods princess i just thought seeing we all are here to talk about our babies i would like to see what they look like.

The most recent pictures of my boy: Sam at the park
Hope the link works. He's had a hair cut at last, so isn't so much a scruffian any more.
The funny thing is that during the day Sam will go to bed on his own for anyone - except me. He does for DH, he's been doing it for ages at day care... He just likes his mummy snuggles too. But it works for this family - I certainly know it's not for everyone.

Reet-sienna is so cute and look at all the hair they are lovely photos she looks bigger than she was and so alert for a newbie she has been here before clever girl.

Woohoo this thread is really moving along!
Ferrals- First of all i want to say thankyou for bringing our murraycod back to us, ur persistence paid off!!
Secondly how cute is Ella! Gorgeous!
Wow ur kids as babies sound great! I cant believe they all got into such good routines at such a young age! Wow maybe its not ur kids that are great, ur just a good mummy! :)
Have u let them establish there own routine or have u kinda prodded them into one..like with set bedtime and wake up times etc??
Oh and maybe u shld make a thread in the meetup section and see if there are any BB girls living close to u that u cld meet up with?? Or have u looked into a mothers group?? Im lucky to know about 5 girls having babies within 2 months of eachother, there not much more then aquaintances now but i think that will change since we all have something in common now. I normally love my own space and very rarely visit friends but with dh being away i might start going crazy only talking baby talk each day!
BW- Ur little man is so handsome! :)
Ur so right that only the parents know the baby best. Im so glad that it only took one awful day on the Save Our Sleep routine to realise this! (i will probably get banned from here for even reading that book!)
And wow what a journey u have had.. im so glad that u have such a beautiful little man as a result of it all tho.
Tegam- Yeah whats with scrubbing the floors on ur hands and knees??! Like someone else said..use a mop! Or maybe even one of those scrubbing brooms! Anyone wld think u were nesting! U sound like a super cleaner! :)
Kit- Um how u said that u and sammy have an order of what u do things in.. what kind of things are they??! We dont really have anything on our daily agenda! We have a bath in the afternoons, or every second afternoon, and then we have no nappy time out on the grass, but thats about it! I try and fit meals and showers in when shes sleeping. Other then that tho we spend a lot of time on the couch feeding or staring at eachother!
How did Sammy boys needles go?? Hope he was ok. Im meant to be getting Siennas in a weeks time but am going to wait for dh to get home so he can come too, im not sure i cld handle it on my own the first time around!
Oh and with the solids, u do what u think best. Ur little man sounds very healthy and happy! :)
Forshelby- I have 2 sisters plus a little 12 yr old step sister that are going to be coming over a fair bit hopefully. They are happy just cuddling and walking around with little Sienna girl while i clean the bathroom etc. It just means i can close my ears off for a little while! My older sister came over yesterday arvo and i went out and mowed the lawn for a couple hrs! U wld think i wld have a nap or something hey.. haha.. silly girl.
Hey and could u just hand Axel to ur dp and leave them for a few hrs while u go out or do something around the house?? Atleast then its just the 2 of them and u cant see if dp is doing things a little wrong.. or shld i say differently to u.. :)
I make sure i hand Sienna over to dh all the time if hes not doing anything.. i try and make sure she has a full nappy too haha. Otherwise he wld be quite happy doing his own thing too! Hes actually been good the last few days tho since he knows hes going away and is going to miss her.. im kinda thinking of it like 3 weeks of being a fulltime mummy and 1 week off.. pity i have to bf tho so its not really a week off!
Murraycod- Welcome back beautiful lady! Dont even try and catch up on everything.. just start from here :) Cant wait to hear all about ur little princess!
Mildez- Sienna does exactly what little J does during the night, feeds for only like 5 mins and then goes to sleep. I really shld wake her back up so her tummy gets fuller but all i want to do is go back to sleep too so i dont bother! We are slowly getting her in the bassinette, if shes really tired and i shake it while shes falling asleep its ok but if shes wide awake theres no way she will sleep in it. Normally from about 5am onwards she sleeps on my chest. I cant imagine ever being able to put her in her own room at night! I remember u saying wen u were pg u co-sleep with ur dd.. is she still in ur bed?? if she is it must be one snug bed! :)
Kellbell- Hi! u sound exhausted! hope u got some good rest in lastnight.
AFM- I had some great practise yesterday at being a single mummy.. dh was outside building a dog cubby house so sienna was all mine all day. She wld feed and while she was sleeping afterwards i wld go and do a job. She wld only sleep for about half hr to an hr but if u times it by 5 i ended up with quite a bit of time to get stuff done! My sister came over yesterday arvo and was happy to look after her while i went and mowed the lawn. It was actually a really good day! I realised that i will be able to manage without dh being here, but i just cant let the housework stress me out! Like if i have an hr spare clean the bathroom but if i dont then its ok to leave it!
We got our whooping cough vaccines the other day and weighed little miss at the same time, she is now 4.3 kgs! She has put on roughly 400grams a week since leaving hospital..its crazy! Im sure its all going to her legs, they are getting so long! Oh and her face, she is getting so chubby! Its really hard, she is still in 0000 in her body but she doesnt fit in 0000's in her legs, so we have to put her in 000's if its a full suit but then its so loose on her body!
Last night was great.. we didnt go to bed til just before midnight (im still not sleep deprived at all so am still in the habit of going to bed late..wonder how long this will last!) so i fed Sienna then and she woke again at 3am and then at 6am, i think it was the best night with her! She didnt really go back to sleep after the 6 feed but she was quite happy in her basinette til about 730 when we put her in our bed for snuggles.
Im loving being a mummy so much. Im just falling more and more in love with her everyday! :heartbeat:
Anyway better go, we gotta go shopping and get dh some munchies to take away with him.
Have a lovely day! xxx

Reet-I have set there routines to fit my life and work ect and it worked easy with the boys ella has taken a little longer with the reflux causing some problems but it is perseverence and a little tough love i am a believer in controlled crying IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES when they show all the signs of tiredness and they are just about to drop off i put them to bed tuck them in and say nigh nigh time (my bed time words) then i walk out if they grizzle i wait a bit go in pop the dummy in and walk back out and if they get to crying i will go in roll them onto their other side tuck them back in pop the dummy in and walk out this can take some time for bubs to get but i NEVER pick them up when i know they are fed, clean nappy and i know they are tired i will settle them while they are in their bed i just find if you pick them up then they learn that crying will get mum/dad to come get them out of bed (thats my opinion) so they get their way.
Anyway the only time i give in and pick them up is if they are not well or clearly in pain with wind so then i just pick them up settle them while still in the dark room and put them back to bed.
During the night when they wake for bottle/dummy i never stimulate them by talking or turning lights on i have the bathroom light on across the hall which gives me just enough light to see what i am doing i feed/change bub and straight back to bed where they self settle.
And it works for me as i said you have to persevere and know their cries from tired grizzly to real upset and pain that way you know when not to give in and when they really need mums comfort and as we all know crying does not hurt them and most times bubs cry because they are tired and want to sleep or are hungry.
Dont get me wrong there are times when ella is upset with belly pain and DH and i do the cuddle and back patting i just dont let her fall asleep in my arms unless sick she will cuddle into us and once we see the eye rubbing and droopy eyelids it's nigh nigh time.
Oh and i wont get her out of bed until 7am if she wakes before i turn her mobile on and she is happy to lie there and watch it for a while.
And this last 2 weeks she sleeps really well i put her to bed awake but very tired and she goes off to sleep and she has one bottle during the night and has been waking at 7am by herself so has fallen into the routine i have been aiming for it took a while longer then the boys but we got there.
Murrycod- how'd you go with all the catching up reading?

Can i join this thread also i know most of you from pregnancy after loss. I know that i am pregnat again but i think this might help.

Mildez: I love snuggles in bed, I feed Sammy in bed on the weekends and it's so lovely to have us all curled up together :)
BW: Sam is gorgeous! Even with scruffy hair :) We chose Samuel as a name cos we prayed our ass off to get our baby boy too, and it's my grandfather's name.
Angelfish:Hi!!
Ferrals: Sounds like you've found your balance, you've settled so well into being Ella's Mummy, it's awesome to hear you so happy :) And that you get to shag again (LOL!) Hopefully this link will work, it has the most recent pic of Sammy, as well as a few along the way.
http://https://www.facebook.com/medi...00001420186532
Reet: We go - wake, bf, mat time, playtime with mummy, dragged round house with mummy either in rocker or in sling, walk round the garden, story, bf to sleep. Repeat as neccessary :) He's awake about 1 1/2-2 hours, and asleep about one hour, and we repeat it 3 times a day, cept in the afternoon he's awake about 3 hours and he gets bathed. Sammy sleeps 10 hours through the night most nights, which is pretty unusual. Whatever rhythm works for you though :)
Forshelby: Yeah it's hard to keep quiet, lol.
Bah, gotta go, sleepy baby!
BBL!!

Soorry vent coming up. J has had a cough for 3weeks now. She also had a cold when she was 3weeks old that lasted a week (then Gastro) anyway lastnight she had a coughing fit which she couldn't breath and went blue a number of times, vomited etc so we went to ED where she was admitted to paeds. I've been to my GP 3 times over the cough which has been progressively getting worse and last night she had the whoop to it which she hasn't had up until then. So I insisted she be tested for whooping cough a week ago and I got the results lastnight (due to the fact its got to be cultured after its sent to Sydney so thats why it takes a week as it was the hospital had to ring to get them to speed the results up) Turns out the wrong test was ordered so its now another bloody week before I get answers and despite her having an increased resp rate, low grade temp and coughing attacks where she turns blue and vomits I have to wait and see what the results say when I get them in a week. I'm so mad. This nightmare has been going on for 3weeks now and each day she gets worse. I'm not saying its whooping cough but its following the right direction to be that (with the cold first, then well for a fortnight followed by the cough that is gradually getting worse until she can't breath during the attack) also my DD2 has been coughing for 2months now and has had whooping cough in the past and now I have it so what ever it is its highly contagious. I'm going to be so mad if it is whooping cough and they have given me the run around for a month. Not only that if thats what it is then its too late for any treatment to be successful as you need to catch it in the first 3weeks which is now up. Plus now J is anaemic. They don't recommend an iron suppliment just said get it checked in a month and depending on that then they will decide what to do. Sorry for the ***** I'm just so pee'd I again have been given the run around and still my baby is coughing and going blue. The solution to her respiratory rate been to high (sitting around 80) was to turn the monitors of to stop it alarming and then when the Drs asked her nurse at rounds this morning how her cough was overnight the nurse said she hadn't heard it and that was only 30mins after she was listening to her chest with a stethoscope whilst she was coughing. Talk about vague. Suppose to be monitoring my baby and observing her only to shut the door of our room and not see her again for over 3hours. Was praying to God nothing happened as the nurse was clearly not capable of doing any form of resus and I would have had to do it myself. So now I'm back home waiting for the week for the results before any decisions are made.

Kit- the link didnt work never mind i always use photobucket to post on BB as i told reet you just download your pic's and then it gives you a direct link to copy and paste.
Mildez-I hope its not whooping cough and if it is i would be going off at the doctor.
They should have tested her just as a precaution.
My best friend just told me she is almost 12 weeks pregnant again her 4th and i felt a tinge of jealousy:shakehead:
-
I hope I'm wrong Ferrals but I have a really strong feeling I'm not. I'm happy to be proven wrong of course and hope to God I am. J was tested a week ago and thats the test that was wrong then she was tested again today properly. The test will be sent of tomorrow so Sydney will get it Tuesday then they culture it for 70something hours before I find out. If it is they will phone me straight away. Well thats what happened 2yrs ago when DD2 had it. So it should be Friday before I know. They said antibiotics wont do any good if its not caught by 3weeks and now its been longer then that. They said all they would do now is treat her with oxygen if needed if it is WC. Other then her cough and struggling to breath when its exceptionally bad she is completely normal but is lethargic. Hope I am wrong. Please let me be wrong.

far out Mildez thats scary! Wish there was something better i could say....
