Mildez-when i had whooping cough in 2009 DH and i were tested as were the boys we only had to wait 3 days for the results they did the throat and nasal swabs ewww and we were started on antibiotics i had been sick for weeks already and only went to the doctors because i knew i had broken a rib it didnt even occur to me it was whooping cough DH didnt have it my eldest son had had it just before me so his BT showed he had imunity and didnt need anything and my middle son had it but very mild just the bad cough no vomiting or anything and my youngest son didnt have it but i got it the worst broke my rib twice in 90 days coughed until i vomited and gasped for breath it was awful and my kids hardly suffered at all so lets hope that j has some imunity and if it is whooping cough it doesnt get any worse
-
LOL Tegam the 2nd one worked perfectly.
What a great pic and they are adorable.
-
YAY thanks Ferrals....
Now i take a breath and say it quickly so its less painless....
Im taking a break from BB, im actually going to ban myself.
Time to re focus my energies, prioritise my time.....
Ferrals could you please sms if i miss anything??
Mildez goodluck with your little J!
-
Oh Tegam- we will miss u! :( Im not sure if i wld have the strength to get myself banned! I think i wld have to make a new username up or something just so i cld come on! haha. Enjoy ur break, i wish sometimes i cld tear myself away from the computer, imagine all the stuff i cld get done!
I love that u posted that at 7.40pm and ur still online an hour later, getting ur last good fix of BB!! :)
See u in 2 weeks!!! xx
-
Reet im busted!
Still not banned yet! But have asked for 2 weeks....ahhhh what have i done!
-
Mildez- that sounds horrible! poor little J :( poor u too for having to watch ur baby girl suffer, i wld be beside myself. I really hope its not whooping cough, ill keep my FX for u guys that its not.. hopefully by some miracle the results come back earlier then friday. Is there anything that can b done if it is since its after that 3 week mark or does she just have to get thru it on her own?? Thinking of u xx
Kit- Oh ur days sound lovely! I might have to start something like it myself!
Hey just wondering, dont ur bbs feel like they are going to explode by the morning since Sammy doesnt feed for 10 hrs at night?? One boob goes without feeding for 6 hrs during the night and i wake up in the morning pretty sore! I nearly drown poor little Sienna cos its so full!
Ferrals- Thankyou for all that advice!! Im going to try and start following some of it. Im just trying to learn her different cries. Even if she is tired and i know she is doing a tired cry i convince myself that she must have wind and end up picking her up, silly me. I think over the next 3 weeks with dh being away i will learn a bit more stuff about being a mummy... hopefully i learn to be a little tougher..i really dont want to carry her around on me constantly cos she wont settle herself! Shes already getting too used to us rocking or bouncing her to sleep during the day.
Welcome Angel! I am a tad jealous that ur pregnant so soon! I wld love to be pregnant again soon but dont think my body will co-operate with me!
-
Tegam-enjoy your 2 weeks i will txt u if anything exciting or real important happens i had a break a while back with no net but i kept sneaking my son's pre paid DO DO thingy and having a quick fix LOL.
Reet-all you can do is give it a try and persevere even if you think it's not working it can take a while but eventually they will be able to self settle and knowing their cries is a big advantage and you will find what works for you and a routine that suits you and sienna and being a 1st time mum DON'T WORRY if you arent sure just try to settle her in her bed or bouncer 1st then if it doesnt work pick her up i bet my last dollar with your next bub you will be a pro and it will all seem so easy and remember we have all been new mums and it is one big learning experience so relax enjoy and see how you go.
Did anyone watch the baby food debate on the today show this morning i only caught the tail end of it and they mentioned research suggests starting babies on solids earlier than they have previously recommended i missed the rest can anyone fill me in.

Awwwww kit so cute what a good looking little man.
My ella is such a porker now i was looking at her newborn pictures and she was so tiny and now chubba chubba.
-
Oh hi chatterboxes. It's a madhouse in here, I see!
Gotta put the princess to bed. BBL to catch up.
-
Kit~ omg i just looked at your pictures they are so cute.
I feel like the worse mom in the world today with the hoilday here. My bf kids were over and its always so hectic they dont listen blah its a long story. But i was giving honor a bath and when i lifted her out of the tub i thought i had a good grip on her and she slambed her head in on the spout. I started to cry she was screaming my bf yelled at me for getting upset
-
Mildez - I've never heard your full story either! Thanks for sharing that with us. Ikwym struggling with the thought of your family plans being influenced by your fertility. Ok so my fertility is fine and nothing was damaged as a result of DS's birth, but DP is sooooooo against having another now, so I guess that's it for us! :( I shouldn't be thinking about being pg again already but it does make me a little sad that little Axel might be the first and the last born. I loved being pg so much (thank god it was so enjoyable since the ending was so bad) it makes me sad thinking I may never get to experience that joy again. About the co-sleeping, I swore I wouldn't do it.... and here I am, snuggled up with my little man every morning from about 4am onwards. I agree, they're only this little once.... we should enjoy it! I just read on to your whooping cough vent... you poor thing. I so hope it's not whooping cough but mummy's intuition is usually pretty spot on. I'm so sorry the hospital have been very little help, gosh I know that feeling. Keep us updated...
Tegam - Want to come and clean my floors? LOL, you sound like you've had a lot of practise. I do have a mop though..... hehehe. Your kidlets are just beautiful, thanks for the pic! We'll miss you during your BB break. Don't stay away too long!
Ferrals - Oh, I wish Axel would behave long enough in his bouncer to get anything done... he gets bored of it very quickly and starts to fuss within 15 minutes max. And forget about moving it around, he'd just chuck a narna no matter what I did lol. Sounds like Ella knows you mean business, lol. You mop and vacuum every day? :o You're a machine! The last time I mopped was when I was about 36wks pg..... eww. I do sweep and vacuum though lol. I'm also insanely jealous that Ella puts herself to sleep on her own! Axel won't have a bar of that. I've tried. Probably not hard enough though hehe. In his defense, he does go down reasonably easy if I give him a cuddle and sit in a quiet room with him for 30mins or so. That's a lot better than he was! Up until 9 or 10pm screaming non stop between 5 and 10.. agh. Learning to 'read' the cries is definitely important. I think I'm getting the hang of it. I checked out your pics, Ella is GORGEOUS!!!
BW - Lol, I will probably get Axel to 'help' with housework by painting the fence with water.. and other ingenious ideas. Knowing him though he'll want to be in my face REALLY helping. Oh the things I have to look forward to! I must admit I'm the same some days, if we're fed and clothed then that's all that happens. Sometimes you just need to rest. So if it's ok for me to do that, then it's definitely ok for you to have a few days 'off' here and there!
Murraycod - Oh how I have missed you!! Welcome back! I was worried something bad might have happened since you disappeared like that. Can't wait to hear all about Alexis.
Kellie - Welcome!
Reet - I'm glad you've got your sisters to help, that'll make things a lot easier for you. Trust you to mow the lawn instead of sleep lol. I could give Axel to DP for a while but he gets home from work so late most nights. Sometimes 7pm. By then it's almost bedtime for our little man.... and I do bedtimes, mostly because he settles down better for me and we're trying to establish a new nighttime sleep routine. Definitely no going out to do anything at that time of night.. I find DP doesn't do anything 'wrong'. Except talking to Axel when he's meant to be sleeping lol. I made a conscious choice never to criticize his parenting because I know how it'd make me feel. If I see something I think isn't working, I just suggest something else, and tell him how I handle it. He seems to value my input and always tries what I suggest. LOL@ the full nappy though haha. I seem to always get the pooey ones lol. I'm so excited to hear bfing is going so well for you, too. That's one thing I'm actually quite sad about. I feel like I didn't try hard enough. :( Sounds like we have a similar night routine though, Axel spends the early hours of the morning sleeping on me in my bed otherwise I'd have to get up at 4.30-5am... no thanks! I feel the same about the transition to his own room, so I've started putting his bassinette in there for daytime sleeps (if he has one!) and the first part of the night while I'm still up and about. Around midnight we wheel him into our room so he's right there next to us. Seems to be working so far! It sounds like little Sienna is growing really fast! I'm going to hop on fb and stalk you a bit so I hope there's new pics hehehe. That reminds me, I need to take some pictures of Axel in the nudie, lol..... your nudie Sienna pics are just gorgeous!
Angelfish - Of course you're welcome in here!
Kit - I love the sound of your routine.... sounds so peaceful and serene. :) And 10hrs through the night?! OMG :o jealous! lol Your little Sammy tiger is just beautiful..... awwwwww!
Audax - This thread is kickin'! LOL, I feel like I have my gang back :) So lovely to login and see so much action.
AFM - Bedtimes at my house are getting a lot less stressful. My little sweetie is starting to accept that 7.30-8pm is bedtime, and goes off to sleep without too much of a struggle. Sometimes he rebels and I have to make a 2nd or 3rd attempt, but that's okay. I know that he WILL sleep, because I will NOT bring him back out into the lounge. If it takes 2hrs to get him to settle, so be it. The time is getting shorter though, we're down to about an hour. That includes having his shower with mummy or daddy, having a nice big feed, a snuggle in a quiet room and then off to bed. (rinse and repeat) lol. His physio seems to be going well, his foot has a good range of movement and he LOVES his new physiotherapist. He hated the lady at the hospital and screamed every time she touched him, but this new lady is wonderful. She confessed to me she has difficulty getting pg, and that she's been feeling clucky but thinks she won't be able to have another. I was so chuffed when she said she thinks baby Axel was 'sent to her'. How lovely I have to see her weekly, but that's ok because she's awesome so it's totally worth the money.
Now I have a couple of questions. How does everyone deal with dinnertime? I really struggle to get anything decent cooked because bedtime sort of co-incides with dinner. And if Axel is up at dinnertime, well forget about eating anything because he wants to be held right when my food is ready! So what does everyone else do? I'd love to know.
The next one is about anti-reflux formula. I find Axel is getting a bit constipated on it........ poor little muffin struggles to poo, and when he does it's a big commotion. I gave him 30ml of water with a tiny bit of brown sugar in it the other day and it really helped him, but how often should/can I do that????
Those of you who had a c/s, do you still have a little bit of pain in your incision area?? I still get slight twinges here and there, just wondering if that's all ok.
Lastly, it looks like I'm 'back to normal'. AF arrived last week and only left on the weekend.... talk about over-staying her welcome! I so enjoyed the 'holiday' ..... now I have to remember to keep track of it again. *sigh* Welcome back, AF.. lol.
Sorry for the massive ramble, but you ladies are tough to keep up with as always! Stay tuned for pictures of my little muffin I'll post a link soon.

Here's the link to photos of my bubby boy as promised. I especially love the one the midwife took of DP and Axel a few minutes after birth. I didn't even know she took pictures until I went through my phone later on.

Forshelby-Please dont let that one horrible experience ruin your chance of experiencing a wonderful birth i had 3 fabulous births with my boys and then the horrible experience of Ella's c section aftermath i know every birth is different and you have had a bad one so it can only get better.
And ella is a fab sleeper and so content to be dragged around in her bouncer while i do house work but we still have her grizzly hour every night between 5 and 6pm so i make that her bath time to try and tire her out a bit quicker.
And Axel is your 1st the cries take a while to work out Ella is my 4th so i have got it pretty down pat now and like you said Ella know's when mummy says nigh nigh time it's nigh nigh time lol.
What you wrote about Axels bedtime is what i do if you know they are tired they dont come back out it may take a few trips but they learn there is no point fighting mum.
Ella is a sweety isnt she i would love to be loaded to have just one more but unfortunetly $$$$ do not grow on tree's.
We need to see some pic's of your little man too whats the password.
Angelfish- dont be so hard on yourself us mums are not perfect i still remember the time i closed the car door on my sons fingers i felt like the worst mum but accidents happen thats why they are called accidents we dont intentionally do it so give her lots of kisses and cuddles to make up for it and stop being hard on yourself.
Forshelby- if i am cooking and Ella is awake i bring the boucer into the kitchen and she watches me and if i am eating and she wants her bottle well i just have to reheat my dinner but i try to make sure i do dinner before she is due for a feed or at least prepare it all ready to go.
Anti reflux formula- i switched to normal formula and add a small amount of thickner enough to suit her i started off with 1 scoop and now am down to 1/2 a scoop where the tin recomends 2 scoops.
The brown sugar and water give as often as he needs until his poo's are normal i gave ella some every 2nd day until her poo's were normal and that took about a week.
My c section scar is still sensitive to rub or if i sleep on my belly it feels a little sore still so normal i will post some of my c sections pics later.
My AF turned up yesterday YUK!
And yes the Gang is back yippeee!!!

Oh Ferrals, I would happily go back for another baby. I don't want my only experience with childbirth to be such a brutal one. But sadly DP is dead against it right now. I'm not going to press the issue either, as I was lucky enough to get one! I did say to him he's in charge of how many we have, and that if he said one, I would be satisfied. So I have to be. No going back on that little promise. I am hoping a little though that as Axel gets older he'll want a sibling for him as much as I do. If not, well..... I'll have to deal with it. I am afraid of what another birth might be like, but then I've learned so much, I think I'd be a lot stronger next time around. I definitely wouldn't be just a passenger as I was this time.
Thanks for the info on the reflux formula, and the c/s scar. Good to know I'm meant to feel a bit iffy, and that the brown sugar isn't going to hurt my little muffin. :) Speaking of, he's getting fussy. Time to do his physio exercises and give him a little drink of water. I have no idea how he manages to get those rock hard pebbles out........ lol, I shouldn't laugh!
Oh and the password for my pics is qazwsx
enjoy!

You know Ella has been my only baby that was born with vernix (the white stuff) all over them i was very surprised to see how much she had on her.
I wonder if it's because she has a different dad then the boys had.
You can tell i have nothing better to do today it is absolutely pouring with rain has been all day so i have just stayed home and washed the sheets and ironed all day i have the clothes dryer going and the gas heater so the house is toasty warm.
