It was good to hear the news Lee (even if it was vicariously via FB ;)) Everything crossed things continue to go well.
AFM - grumpy with little people testing all of my patience resulting in a very grumpy, yelling mummy :( Will be back later when I am in a better mood.
Big hello to everyone x
-
Hello! I've been reading but DH is away again and we've been really busy, so haven't had a chance to take it all in and post.. will attempt to catch up....
Michelle - Are you in a better mood yet?? Hope you got the kids to bed easily... we're having some frustrating days atm too and all I seem to do is get grumpy and yell.. not much fun.
Lee - Hope you continue to get some sleep at night... makes the long days that tiny bit easier to deal with.
Lisa - Still nesting hey??? Not long to go now!!
Mako - How frustrating.. I would not have been happy either and am glad to hear you stood your ground and made them do the blood test.. it's not your fault they told you the wrong information! Hope you get some answers.
Willow - hows the sleep going?? Hope last night was a better one!! Oh man.. my poor little toe is still pretty sore too.. very annoying!!
Bek - Hope you managed to get a bit more sleep..
Spring - Still waiting to hear the dummy story????
Janie - Thanks for thinking of me!! How are you going?? Hope the CTG goes well tomorrow!! Provided it does and all is fine.. I'm still keen to catch up Thursday avo.. so I'll give you a call tomorrow avo! Let me know if you need anything too.. I'm happy to pop past the shops for you on the way over!!
Jayne - Hows Jessica going?? Bet she LOVED all the yummy food you baked!!!
Freya - How's uni going??
Big hello's to everyone else.
AFM - I'm still feeling really flat but managing to snap out of it when we're out and about, so that's good. I'm sooo over renting though, so many problems and the damn blue alarm light is still flashing out the front of our house. I finally got hold of someone myself to come and fix it.. but they can't get here until tomorrow and I've told the agent I'm sending them the bill!! So frustrating. DH is still away too and we don't have a dishwasher.. not to mention that we keep getting wasps flying in the back door (because there's no bloody flyscreen). So dangerous.. yesterday we had 4 wasps flying around and one of them was in Luke's playroom flying over his head!!! Its so frustrating becuase we need the door open to have the air con on. Oh man... there's so many other things too but I won't bore you with any more of the details!!
On a brighter note, some good friends are coming over to visit us on Friday night.. sooo exciting, its our first visitors coming to see our new home!!! Only problem is, it's my friend who's pg (only 4 weeks ahead of what I would be).. so that's a bit hard but I'm determined to be strong and not let it get to me. They are really great friends and I want to be happy for them!!
OK.. enough from me.. sorry for the long post, it's hard being here alone.. hate it when DH is away!

Hey Kelly, I would have called you earlier if I'd realised you were alone! I will let you know what the go is for Thursday after I see Max tomorrow. I will possibly be having steroids tomorrow, and if I do I'll be going back in for another dose on Thursday, don't know what time yet. But yeah, I'll let you know! Hope you're not too lonely tonight.......and that your toe is better  Have you thought about having it checked? We think DH has a broken toe, he did it about a month ago, and it's still giving him hell. Of course, he wouldn't have it looked at then, and now he doesn't have any time
-
Thanks Janie... you're such a sweetheart!! I'm ok.. just a bit flat at times and it's been kinda nice just lying on the couch in silence. Off to bed now so hope I get a good sleep.. then Luke's at daycare tomorrow.. so that will be nice. Have an eye test and picking some new glasses out.. can't wait.. although god knows how I'll actually make a decision.. hope that staff are good!!! OMG... you're having the steroids tomorrow... does that mean bubs will be out soon????? I hope all is going ok. No dramas.. just let me know! As for the toe.. I think it will be ok.. there's nothing they can do anyway.. it's not throbbing anymore so thats a start!! Will wait to hear from you tomorrow. Good luck hun. Thinking of you!

Hi guys. Huge day here, sorry for the selfish post. Just wanted to say how proud I of O. In the 6 weeks since B has been being he's toilet trained and decided he doesn't need a dummy to sleep. He has always slept with one in his mouth and holding one in each hand (he has never had them during the day) and as of two nights ago, they're gone. apart from a bit of fuss on the first day, nothing since. He hasn't even tried to get B's dummies.
I think it's safe to say my little toddler is now officially a big boy. I'm so proud I could burst!
-
You are a beautiful Mama Spring...
Janie I am thinking of you - please let me know how you go. You are in my thoughts all of the time.
Michelle:
Kelly: I am sorry things are hard.
Everyone else I am sorry for the short post - I am really struggling these past few days so I am sorry for not being around.
-
hi ladies,
a quick one from me.. had OB appt today, all well but bub no longer head down  but still time to move back down!!
BBL xx
-
Lisa - oh no! I hope bubs turns around again soon. I can't believe how close you are now.
Deb - sweetie, thinking of you.
Spring - woohoo on the TTing and getting rid of the dummy! DD is similar - she has to have two dummies at night - one for her mouth and one in her hand. It is a pain because if she loses one during the night she wakes up and we have to find it for her or she won't go back to sleep. I am looking forward to the day when she decides to give up the dummies!
Janie - so good to see your ticker chugging along - I keep checking where you are at and you are so close to 34 weeks now which is great!
Lee - wow on the 8 hour sleep! I am finding that J will spread his feeds to four hours or sometimes longer during the day but is still wanting three hourly feeds at night! Such a pain, but he is a pretty easy baby compared to his sister.
Willow - OMG what a scare that must have been. I have nightmares about things like that happening. They just move so fast! DD has vanished from me in a split second and I panic when there are cars around. And woohoo on joining the gym!
Jo - how are you feeling now sweetie? When is your scan?
mako - glad you managed to get the BTs done. That would make me so angry!
We are chugging along here. Not getting a lot of sleep but I guess that is no surprise with a newborn. He is a pretty good baby really. Meanwhile DD still doesn't sleep through the night and DH and I have started fighting over it. I really don't know what to do. Other than the dummy issue, which is often why we are up to her during the night, we also made the stupid stupid mistake some time ago of letting her take a bottle of milk to bed with her. Obviously at the time I didn't realise that is a big no no, and it did help with her sleep for a while. Now I realise how bad it is for her teeth so want to stop it, plus she has started waking during the night asking for more milk, EVERY NIGHT. It is driving us crazy and she is 2 now so DH really feels that she should sleep through the night. I have tried watering down the milk which I get away with as long as it is not too watered down, and when she asks for more milk during the night she doesn't get it, I will only refill her bottle with water. Does anyone have any tips? We have had such a hard time with her sleep issues and the last thing I want to do is go there again, but there is no way she will go to sleep without the bottle. Now DD is a VERY strong willed little girl. She will cry all night if she is not happy about something. I have no idea what to do!
-
Bun - Re your DD - this is a toughy. Atm it may be too ambitious to do too much because you have a new baby in the house and maybe some of her waking is a bit of anxiety about the new bubba. We had an issue with taking the dummy off Loren because she kept loosing it and we had to replace it all the time. We got to the point that we just went cold turkey and put up with a few nights from hell. We did a loooottt of patting and back rubbing. Thankfully she has replaced the dummy with a dolly. With the bottle you could start with giving her the night time bottle out side of her room then putting her to bed. Again be prepared for a battle of the wills but at the same time maybe sit with her until she settles and keep telling her that she has already had her bottle. I would start to verbalise her nightly routine with her. Tell her that it is time for bottle, then tell her it is time to brush our teeth, then a story and then night night etc. I think whatever you do you need to choose your battles, take things slow, be consistent (mum and dad), do things at the right time (when you have the energy and patience). Good luck
-
Sorry, another double post.
-
:yeahthat:
I agree with Bek. I'd take it slowly and work on one issue at a time. I don't know if I have any useful advice re dummy because thankfully neither of my DS's really had/have one so it's not something I've had to deal with for them. DD however did have a dummy but we never had to get up to replace it for her, she always managed OK. Are you happy for her to have the dummy to settle but just don't want to be getting up to her when she looses it? If so, a friend of mine (who had twin girls) worked around this by using a dummy chain clippped to the girls' sleeping bags. I can't remember the brand, but it had a very short ribbon as opposed to a chain and there is just no way it would wrap around a childs neck etc so she was never concerned with safety. It worked really well. Dummy never got lost and they would just find it at the end of the ribbon and pop it back in.
If you want to get rid of the dummy altogether...I would gently suggest you wait until she is a bit older. In my experience, 2 is a very difficult age to do this and if you wait just 6 months even, her verbal skills and her understanding will be so much more advanced and you'll probably find that it is much less of a battle. This is what I did with DD, she was about 2 and 8 months when we did it and it was a non event really. We had tried earlier when she was 2 and it was hell. When she was that bit older we were able to explain what was going to happen ahead of time, talked and talked and talked about it.
I'm not sure about the bottle because my kids never had one but L does have a sippy cup with a bit of milk while he's having his bedtime story and I want to cut this out soon-ish. I think Bek's idea of giving her the bottle outside of her room, or even in her room but not in bed, is a good one. This is pretty much what we've done with L and he doesn't associate it with going to sleep, more as part of the bedtime routine itms??
Also - this absolutely might be because of the little mister's arrival. DD was an excellent sleeper (hindsight's a beautiful thing ) but she had a sleep regression after DS1 was born that lasted a few months. I was getting up to two of them for a while and it nearly did me in. Good news is...it does pass once they adjust :)
Anyway, I don't think I've been much help but I wanted to try because I know how awful sleep issues are and the stress they create  I didn't realise you had any issues with DD's sleep. I hope things improve soon.
Gotta get ready for school but BBL...
OK, I'm back.
Just wanted to say...Janie - guess where I went last night?! The DENTIST!! :o It went surprisingly well. No problems at all, no fillings or anything nasty like that. He even did x-rays which surprised me a bit but they were all clear. So I just had them cleaned which I HATE but had to suck it up because I had DD with me and it was her first time. She has 'beautiful' teeth I'm pleased to report and no issues with her either. She even let him clean her teeth which surprised me because she gets a bit anxious about things like that but she wouldn't let him use the vacuum sucker thingo. She told him 'can you put that away please and don't use it in my mouth because I'm very scared of that' At least she was polite about it!! I also asked him about the wear on my teeth. He said he has seen a lot worse and it's nothing to be overly concerned about. Talked to him about a splint and he gave me a quote so I'll probably go back in a few months and organise that. AND our health fund covered the gap so instead of paying $325 (:o) it cost us nothing - bonus!
Deb - You are in my thoughts.
-
Ugh. This past few days have been rotten. Really rotten. Im just about ready to pack it in, pack a bag and run away.
Jett was coughing and spluttering all weekend. Sounded like croup to me but the GP on Monday said he was fine. Ry had to take monday off because Stellan had tonsilitis and needed another GP checkup. That night (because we are in the middle of shifting my stuff to his place) he tripped on a randomly lying around toybox and is now on crutches with a suspected fractured foot and torn tendons/ligaments. So I spent tues ferrying him around from hosp to dr to physio. Then Tues night I heard what I thought was Jett struggling to breathe; I ran like a maniac into his room to find him sleeping just fine. Then I realised it was Ripley. That few seconds when I ran into his room were the worse in my life. He was flopping around on his bed trying to catch his breathe, trying to call for me but managing nothing but gasps................I picked him up, kept trying to calm him down and telling him to just breathe slowly while I screamed at Ry to call an ambulance. But the 000 operator told us it would be quicker to drive to hosp so I ran about every red light to get there. He had started to catch his breathe when we got there; waiting for 8min for triage to see us (DONT get me started on that when I made it clear to them he was lethargic and had been struggling to breathe) then he was put on ED paed ward. Turns out HE has croup; they gave him steroids and pain killers, he got a 40deg fever. We went home after a couple of hours when the steroids kicked in, he slept great that night but last night BOTH boys were gasping and choking in their sleep so Ry bunked in with Jett and Rip slept with me. He woke me up atleast twice gasping for breath and choking. I think its more than just croup because I have asthma and apparently croup can get worse in asthmatic kids, Rip came down so suddenly and severely. So now my aim is to get them well enough to go to daycare next week so I can start classes *sigh*
Honestly I must have a **** on me sign on my back :(
Hope everyone else is having a better week than I am; sorry for the selfish post.
-
Anna - I've had to do that dash to the hospital with DD and I know how scary it is! Did they give you predmix to continue at home? My GP advises us to keep some in our fridge now so we've always got it on hand and at the first sign to give it to her, she's had it enough times now that I know it straight away. L has also had it.
I hope things really pick up in the next few days so that you can start next week stress free
-
Freya - Oh my gosh what a terrible time you've had  My DD1 gets croup too, I know how scary it can be - our first bout she ended up in hospital :( I hope all your boys are feeling better soon.
Bun - How difficult when you and DH don't agree on what to do  FWIW I agree with Bek and Willow, I'd be really suspicious that the sleeping is to do with bubby, but having said that we had terrible troubles with DD1 and her sleeping around the 18 - 24 month mark as well. I've not used a dummy so can't really comment on that, but would she maybe take water instead of milk in the bottle if you really can't get rid of the bottle like Bek said? Also, a book like the No Cry Sleep Solution may have some good suggestions, we used it for DD1 and it had some great suggestions for bedtime routines which really worked for us. Oh and we also realised that DD1 doesn't like sleeping in the dark! BTW, happy birthday hun for the other day.
Spring - What a clever big boy!
Kelly - hope you are doing OK today
Lisa - Sounds like you are very organised ;)
Mako - Oh hun I'm so sorry to hear you had such trouble at the pathology place. GRRRRR to that woman on the phone, I don't blame you for being angry that is just cr@p when you are coming so far to have it done. Sorry I still haven't been in touch, its been a shocker of a week here
Willow - How's the sleeping in our own room going? Hope you're getting a bit more sleep now, we aren't LOL
AFU, little E has been sick this week along with her big sis. On Mon night she vomited after her solids and after a milk feed then woke up in the middle of the night as hot as anything - temp was 39 and vomited again. We were booked in to have immunisations done the next day so they got called off and because I was a bit worried about the combination of fever and vomiting and we saw the doctor instead. He was worried about a UTI as well, but she came good later that day so I'm sure she just had whatever it was DD1 had. They are both on the mend now though and so far I have not managed to catch it touch wood. We also started solids last weekend and its going cr@p too. She had them the day she was sick because I didn't know she was sick at that stage, but now she's better she is still gagging and vomiting after even a tiny bit. She doesn't like rice cereal but she seems to like other stuff like avocado and sweet potato, so I'm really in 2 minds as to whether or not to give her a break for a couple of weeks.
-
Megs - Sleep has generally improved a lot but last night was a shocker. Posted in our baby bud thread about it ;) Solids aren't off to a flying start here either but I am persisting. I know the old 'food is for fun until they're one' thing but to be honest I think I was a little too lax about it and did more BLS with DS1 but we had a lot of grief getting him established on solids once he was older. This time I'm doing it the way I did with DD which is to start out with mashed stuff and then move on to finger foods and more of a BLS approach once he is a bit older.
-
Willow - LOL I just posted back to you in our baby buds thread ;) Feel like I'm chasing you around BB ROFL Yeah I'm just feeling like the solids are a real PITA ATM. I'm pretty sure the last couple of chucks weren't because she was sick, and I hate the idea that I'm making her spew with them KWIM? I still reserve the right to change my mind LOL but I think I might try once more today and see what happens and if she spews today I'll stop for a couple of weeks. DD1 was the complete opposite to E though, she just opened up right from the very first day and in it went, but now she is picky as anything  I really don't want to end up with 2 picky eaters, not to mention a DH that is picky too! :o
-
Hey ladies :) Sounds like a few of us are struggling in here  I am not doing so well, and hating myself for it. I am up and down like a yoyo, and TBH the ups are not so great. I AM happy that we've come this far, I am so relieved. But I'm struggling for some reason, and really not enjoying things. I dread going to bed each night now, I almost wish to go into labour just so we knew what was happening. And that is so terrible, I can't believe that thought could run through my head :(. I know rationally that they longer I'm pg the better it will be for EVERYONE, but I'm not feeling very rational ATM . I hate that I'm awake for hours in the night, I hate that doing the simplest things wears me out. I hate that I can't go out and have a social life, I am really missing that. I have wonderful friends who come and spend time with me and DS, which really does help, but I miss the independence, you know? Just deciding for myself how I will spend my days, where we'll go, what we'll do. I know this is all short term, and it's all in the interest of keeping our baby healthy. And that is really what I want. DS totally wears me out, but at the same time, I'm so grateful to have him around, he is very entertaining, and cheers me up :).
I'm so sorry to come in here and vent like this, I know lots of you are having a bad time ATM. Thinking of you all (hope that croup buggers off Anna, it is the PITS!) :grouphug:
Michelle, where are you my love?????
-
Freya - I hope your little man is ok.
Janie - I want to give you a huge hug. I can't offer any insightful advice because you know what you have to do and you are doing it. Try and enjoy your journey, and just know that you are already giving your bub the very best possible.
-
Janie - I am here. Had a shocking few days with my little people and just felt too snarly to be much use to anyone ;) Work today was a relief although they behaved impeccably for DH :wall: Sooooooo frustrating but I know it is because they feel secure enough in me to challenge the boundaries (don't shift me from my pseudo reality if you disagree )
On a positive, DS climbed onto the bookshelf to turn the light on in the bathroom, took himself in and took down his trousers and climbed onto the toilet to do a poo - ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!! Then called Daddy to help finish the job. Such a clever little man - even if I have wanted to spin him on the clothesline this week (not that I have one ;))
Big hello to everyone. I am reading, just not posting. I don't feel I have much to offer at the moment but hoping to be in a better mood soon. Please ......... LOL
-
Honestly, what do Drs learn in the 8+yrs of medical study!? Babies dont get croup my @ss, Stellan is coughing up a storm. Luckily it seems a bit less severe than the other boys, prob because of the booby juice. Hopefully they will all be cleared on Monday to go to daycare tues because classes are starting and I will NOT miss them in the first week; the coordinator will just turf me off the course and rightly so *sigh*
Honestly someone shoot me now.
-
After 6 months they can but they should also be considering bronchiolitis for his age group. Both are viral just the presentation is slightly different. They both get the cough but bronchiolitis is more a moist, lower airway crackling / rattling noise as opposed to an upper airway narrowing with stridor and the distinctive bark with croup. At work this afternoon from 2pm until late and your other contact ;) is there tomorrow during the day too.
It will get better  In the words of Homer J - what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger. You are one strong chickie babe :D
-
Morning ladies,
I need to vent!! Im going to kill DH!! Before we had DD we agreed that we wouldnt give our children middle names, but when FIL was diagnosed with terminal cancer during my pg, I decided that if it was a boy or girl, it would have his name as a middle name. Everyone was very happy and touched by my thoughtfulness...well fastforward to now... last night we came up with a final list of boy and girl names - then i asked what we were going to do about middle names..well he went feral and said we agreed on no middle names!!!! But that was BEFORE we gave one to DD. If DD has one, then in my opinion, ALL my babies should have one. He strongly disagrees with me and said DD's name was special because of the circumstance in which it was given :wall:Sorry but all my babies names will be special, whatever the reason :wall:
well this morning when he was leaving for work, i told him he had to reconsider cause im not going to give up.
Ok now that ive got that off my chest, hope you all have a great day and Anna I hope the boys are ok enough for you to go to uni, hang in there hun
Lis
-
Oh CRAP Lisa! Don't back down sweets, I totally agree with you. I hope DH relents soon, so that you can relax again  FWIW, and you can share this with him, I have three step-sisters........the first one got her mum's name as her middle name, but the others didn't get a middle name at all! The other two have always resented that. Seriously, especially the middle one. It's no big deal, they don't go on about it, but it has been an issue.
-
Lisa - TOTALLY agree. If DD has a middle name, this bubba should too. It is a big deal I think and you're guaranteed that one day bub would ask why they don't have one.
Michelle - Hate weeks like that where you just want to pack your bags and run away!! I hope the little people are kinder and you're enjoying your 'break' at work.
Freya - I hope things in your house improve soon
Janie - Don't feel bad for thinking that way, I think it's a reasonable thought. You're living in limbo and that's never fun. Hang in there, you're almost there
-
Thanks ladies, thats what I think too - its going to break my heart one day when the bubba is old enough and asks me 'mummy whats my middle name?' Ive got a couple weeks at least to bend his arm backwards over this.. will be ringing baby's godmother today who is his cousin and will no doubt get on the phone and harrass him about it too. He is going to wish he never messed with me on this one :p
Janie - hun seriously look at your ticker, your doing so well sweety, hang in there your doing a fabulous job!!
-
Thanks Michelle. TBH it doesnt totally sound like croup with Stellan but it prob is. Poor Jett has been sick for a week and is STILL coughing like crazy. Im tempted to ask the gp on monday for a inhaler like mine for them, everytime they get sick they get a cough that lasts forever (like me, and I have a steroid inhaler for it otherwise I cough for months). Still waiting for the allergist appt but I think they might be asthmatic like me as well but no one will test them because they are too young.
Its so bloody frustrating.
Lisa - all my boys have TWO middle names. Dh was not a fan but I thought our first son should have both his and FILs names (Ryan Andrew) because Jett was the first boy born since DH and his cousin (same age) to carry on the surname. Then I couldnt have the others think I didnt care enough to give them two middle names so they each got two; Rips is after my Dad and Jon Bon Jovi (Jon Conor, long story) and Stellans is obviously his original first name and Dh's greatgrandfather and fathers mn (River James). If we had a girl she would have been Carys Audrey Leontine, after the great grandmothers one my side one Dhs side.
Anyway I need to clean, and unpack stuff, while Stells is asleep.
Oh and on that note; he actually stirred twice last night but didnt feed! He was cosleeping with me (so was Rip, what fun lol) and I think that helped. He's been going to nap/bed with a bottle and nodding off without even drinking it. I think my milk has dwindled heaps so might be time to cut it out all together. On one hand I feel guilty but on the other Im relieved because its one less demand on my time, selfish huh.
-
Crap.. just lost my post.
Sorry I haven't been around much.. just not really feeling too great still and don't really feel like I can contribute much when I'm in this state of mind, iykwim??
Janie - Was soo great to see you the other day and am more than happy to pop over whenever you need it. Big hugs.
Freya - massive hugs.. hope things improve for you SOON.
Michelle - Hope you're doing ok. Wow, I'm so impressed with DS, that's fantastic. Luke's still got no idea and even did a damn poo in the bath the other night - wtf??? So frustrating but I've given up and will just wait till he's ready!!!
Lisa - I absolutely agree too.. you need to fight for this one. Doesn't DH know not to mess with a pg woomen.. espcially so close to your edd.. LOL.
Megs - How are the solids going??? Hope everyone is well in your household again.
Jayne - Where are you... I miss you in here!!
Jo - How are you?? Hope all is going ok.. when is your next scan??
Big hello to everyone else.
AFM - Still feeling a bit down but slowly getting myself out of it. Have had a really busy week so that helps but just find it hard to be 'happy' iykwim. Have some good friends coming over from Perth tonight, so that will help and we'll have a pretty busy 4 days while they're here. So probably won't be around much!!
Just took DS to the animal farm too and it was so much fun... he loved it but we raced out of there becuase my diswasher is supposed to be coming back and when he rang this morning, he said I need to be home by 12. Well... it's 1pm now (which was the time I wanted to get home) and he's still not bloody here. Frustrating. Hope he comes soon, I'm desperate for it and have heaps to do.
Kel xx

Hey ladies,
Sorry i've been quiet, just trying to relax and not stress.
I had another scan this morning AND bubba is measuring 8weeks, EDD has been changed to October 3rd and heartbeat was 160. Needless to say i'm relieved.
Sorry i havent caught up on what's been happening
-
Bonham: Whoo Hoo hun, that is wonderful news. Here's to a non eventful 6 months.
Lisa: I agree with the ladies, if one child has a middle name so should the others. DH might just have to let you have this one.
Kelly: Enjoy the company of friends this weekend hun, I hope they are a nice distraction. Has the dishwasher man showed up yet?
Janie: I've been placed on bed rest before and honestly it is enough to drive a girl batty. I hope that today is a better day for you, you are doing an amazing job baking that bub and just hang in there hun because each and every day is a wonderful gift for bub.
Freya: When it rains it pours. I'm so sorry to hear the lads aren't well on such an important week for you. If you think there is more to it with Stellas take MIchelle up on the invite and get another opinion. I hope and pray that it all just sorts out and falls into place before next week. How is DH"s foot? I hope he is on the mend also.
Meg: Sorry to hear your LO's have been sick also. I hope they are 100% again now. Don't worry too much about the solids, perhaps give it a break for a few weeks and try again.
Willow: Glad to hear D's sleep is improving, lets hope it continues.
MIchelle: I saw your BF status, Hugs for you babe :comfort: it is never easy saying good-bye.
Deb: Thinking of you, :comfort:
AFM I'm doing ok. DH has been away all week and will be away a while yet and I"m pretty proud that I'd doing well on my own. My parents are a great help and I even got to go out yesterday with just O and leave B at home for an hour. It was nice to have some one on one with my big boy. Weekend's suck though with DH away. I think I might just put the boys to bed, grab a wine and vege out on the couch.
Hi to everyone else.
Spring xx
-
Ah Spring if only I hadnt got the whole 'lets move home' idea in my silly head, I could keep you company! Its nice to get one on one time sometimes isnt it - I love it when I can take just one of the lads out and about with me. Its so easy lol esp if its one that doesnt need a pram.
Jo - yay for great scans!!! So excited for you, I bet you are relieved with a capitol R.
Curious to see what the physio said to Dh today. She reckons his foot is atleast fractured if not broken but the Dr said no just tendon damage. He says it feel better but still hard to walk on. Which is awesome timing what with moving tomorrow so I have elected him house babysitter; while I shift the furniture (cause Im Mrs Muscles right lol) he has to kid wrangle with zero complaints. I know whos getting the better end of the deal haha

Bonham that is wonderful wonderful news honey! I am so relieved that this little one is doing the right things in there!
Michelle: I too am sorry my love. :comfort:
Willow: Yay for better sleep!!!!! I hope it all stays good my love...
Kristy: Of course you are doing beautifully on your own - you are amazing! I hope things stay on track & you enjoy that wine. ..
Kelly: I hope the weekend is good for you...
Freya: I hope that all these bugs leave your house soon...
Lee: How are you going my love?
Janie: Look how far you are getting!!!! This is wonderful - I know how frustrating it is to have to rest all the time - and I know that you know it's what has to happen & that doesn't make it any easier. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers... Another 6 days & you've made it to 34 weeks. That is so fabulous... Let's hope & pray that this little one does the right things & stays put for another few weeks.
Me: Well it's been very very trying here. I haven't wanted to whinge and whine too much & now I'm feeling a bit better I can share a bit. The FOTY let my 14 yo DD go to a rave party in town, she had asked him, told him I didn't know & went with his blessing. I was phoned in the middle of the night by concerned parents who knew I didn't know she was there... Girls were taken away by ambulance, girls vomiting in the street... It was ordinary... Her father picked her & some other girls up at around midnight, leaving DS9 & DD5 alone on the farm... It just does my head in how they can get away with all of this behaviour. Of course she met a 19 yo boy there that she now wants to go out with him... :wall: So, you can imagine how difficult this is. To give her her due she came to me the next day to tell me that she had gone to the party & knew it was the wrong thing to do. I was proud of her honesty. Her father had told her not to tell me as "I would go mad"... You've gotta love the maturity of someone who is trying to win points with his 14year old daughter... :wall:
Anyway I have told her that I cannot really stop her going out with the boy but I disagree strongly, I am very very worried & would she come along and talk to a professional about it so she can see that there are good reasons why etc... She likes him because he's mature, reads a lot of books & is very shy... I know his Mother & he is a nice young man (Goodness I sound old...) BUT he is 5 years older than her... Anyway she has agreed to talk & has been very reasonable. Even though her father can't see anything wrong with it... :wall: I think she can see that I am really worried...
Of course there has been no further advance on the property settlement. He disputes Imogen's diagnosis & requested pathology results & a report from the Dr... Of course that was promptly forwarded to his Solicitor & I have heard nothing since. So, next Tuesday I am meeting with my Solicitor to sign the papers to commence Court proceedings. It's costly but I agree with my Solicitor that there is no other way to get him to answer. He has provided no disclosure of financial information, no acknowledgement of receipt of letters - my Solicitor emailed his Solicitor yesterday stating that we would begin action next Tuesday and to ask where he can be found to serve papers... So, if that doesn't get any action we go to Court in April.
He had his mediation session this week & they contacted me for an appointment to meet with the child liason person to discuss them. The FOTY has been telling the children that I am turning them against him - the past 2 times they have seen him they have come back saying he was crying and saying that he didn't want it to be this way & I am going to make them hate him... My kids love their Dad & even though he is a complete lunatic right now I know that he loves them. I know some people say you shouldn't say too much - but in our situation I really do need to. I can't tell my kids that we are divorcing because we couldn't work it out. We are getting divorced because he doesnt want to be married to me... I can't make up a story to make it right for him without lying to my children. I don't want them believing I wouldn't have done all I could. I can't let them think him having a relationship with someone who was once a very close friend. I can't let them think it's not outrageous for him to tell my children how gorgeous her boys are & how much he loves spending time with them... :wall:
So, I am imaging the poo will hit the fan... A couple of weekends ago my kids came home telling me that they had spent the whole day with Ms Sloppy Seconds & she was changing Immy's nappies and gooing over her... I just about lost the plot. It's just so wrong. I know I cannot do anything to stop them doing that - but I again asked them to not do their thing around my kids... I just don't want them growing up to think it's a cool thing to take up with your friends husband...
Anyway suffice it to say it's been very difficult here - so my apologies for not being around as much.

Deb: I am gobsmacked :jawdrop:
It is beyond reason as to why any sane father would not only allow, but drop his 14 year old daughter off at a Rave party!!!! Does he not understand how dangerous those sorts of places are for young girls. Has he lost his mind???? I am so very furious for you. Not to mention leaving the younger kids alone. This is just going way too far.
And the 19 year old, trust your instincts babe. No matter how nice he is 19 year old young men will most likely be looking for a sexual relationship. She isn't even the age of consent yet. I am so glad that she has agreed to talk to someone about it, she is a very sensible young lady and I hope that she discontinues her relationship with him. FOTY is allowing her to get into some very risky situations, he is child like. The man is nutty.
Oh hun, I'm seething for you. This man, no this worm is just proving that he doesn't deserve your love.
If there is anything at all I can do please just let me know. :comfort:

Deb, I am sorry that things are so difficult for you at the moment. The one good thing about your DD being 14 is that the "relationships" do not last very long.
My parents were divorced when I was a preteen. It was very difficult for me. I think it would have been good if my mom explained to me why it was happening and told me the truth. I was mature enough to hear and understand it. I can't even imagine how difficult it is to get along with your ex at the moment. My parents cannot be in the same room without screaming at each other all these years later. Unfortunately he will be a part of your life and your childrens lives forever. I hope that at some point you are able to have enough of a relationship that you can make decisions about/for the care of your children together.

Sorry girls I'm here but just reading and not posting atm. I'm not in a good head space right now but as soon as I start feeling a bit better I'll post more. to everyone who needs them.
-
Deb - your children are very lucky to have such an amazing, wise and strong mother. I agree that FOTY is a twit at best, and children shouldnt be lied to, let loose and used in the way he does. Court proceedings are probably a good idea as you cant live in limbo and need to sort your life out. DD sounds like a smart girl, she will see that a 19yo is not for her. Sending you massive
Mako - hope your ok sweety
AFM -making progress with DH on the middle name front, but still dont have the 100% go ahead.
On a side note, Im meeting up with an old friend today, one who is linked strongly to my past, i love her to bits and cant wait to see her and her children but we always end up discussing him and then I end up thinking about him for days afterwards :shakehead:. Dont know if its a good thing to see her regularly...
Hope your all well xx
-
Deb, wow, what a loser! I am seriously gobsmacked that a dad would do all of that. Sounds like you're doing all the right things lovely, and good on you for starting court proceedings.
Mako, hope you're okay hun  you know we're here for you if you want to chat/vent, but we also understand that sometimes it's just too hard to post. Take care of yourself
Jo, that is fantastic news!!!!!!!!
Lisa, I think I've missed something???? I hope you have a lovely day though hun.........any chance you can put a ban on talking about 'him'?

Hi girls,
Sorry, but I'm another who is reading and not posting much. Have been feeling so overwhelmed lately - mothering 4 children is so completely demanding, it really takes nothing for me to feel out of my comfort zone. I really don't know what to do to help myself???? I don't have any family support, and have a few nice friends, but they are all really busy too. Remy (18 months) is really full on, and Flynn does not sleep in the day much at all, that combined with taxi-ing the older ones around, cooking, cleaning, shopping - I hate to say this, but some days I just feel like a slave, and there is no time for FUN, I hate feeling like this. I feel like I'm working from dawn till dusk (or beyond), get no time for myself, am feeling a bit trapped. Had to get that all out - I guess having said that, some days are better than others, but I find myself teary almost every day. Dh is fairly good when he's around, but he works full time, but is helpful when he is home. Arrrggghhhhh, sorry to vent, I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling like this - I just want to feel happy and back to my old self, can't see it yet....
Apologies for the selfish post - congrants Jo on your good scan!! Deb, have pm'd you xoxo
Lee xo

Janie - how are you feeling?? LOL you havent missed anything, the 'him' is in reference to the guy to whom i was betrothed before current DH... its a loooong story. But im pleased to say that there was only one slight mention of him all afternoon - i think we both feel there is no need to talk about it or him anymore.
Lee -
-
Jo - that is fantastic news! So happy for you hun :)
Deb - OMG, what on earth was he thinking dropping her off at a rave party?? Sounds like she is a sensible girl though, telling you about it and about the boy rather than just sneaking off to see him. You must have done a wonderful job of raising her. Glad to hear that court proceedings will start soon if you get no response, sounds like that is your only option at the moment and I am sure you would like to have it all over and done with asap.
Lisa - oooh, you have me all curious now!! I won't ask any questions though, and I am glad that you managed to get through your visit with your friend without much discussion about him.
Janie - i can totally understand how hard it must be, all this waiting and bedrest. At the end of my pregnancy with DD I was hospitalised with high BP for only 24 hours, and that was enough to send me crazy! You are doing a great job hun and you are getting there.
Spring - sounds like you are doing very well on your own. DH will be away for about three weeks soon and I am dreading it! I really struggle when he is away because I have no family here.
Lee - I have no idea at all how you cope with 4 kids, I am finding 2 hard enough! Hopefully it will get easier as Flynn gets older and less demanding. Thinking of you
freya - OMG, what a night!! That must have been terrifying, and what bad timing. I hope they are better in time for uni this week.
mako - big  coming your way sweetie. When do you have your next appointment with Dr S?
Bek, Willow & Megsmum - thank you so much for your advice re DD. The sleep issue has not only begun with DS's arrival - DD has never been a good sleeper and it hasn't changed at all lately, it's just that we are too tired to continue getting up to her now that we are busy enough getting up to DS during the night. I think I will let her keep her dummies for the time being, and I think I may try attaching them to her somehow so she doesn't lose them during the night as Willow suggested. Re the bottle, I am still really not sure what to do. It is almost like a security blanket for her in that she won't go to bed without it. And she goes to bed so beautifully - she kisses us goodnight and takes herself off to her room, bottle tucked under her arm. The sleep issues start later in the night so the thought of dong something that will make GOING to bed an issue as well just terrifies me, we have had such a hard time with her sleep. Filling it with water just doesn't work, we have tried that. I think she actually drinks all the milk soon after we put her down and the issue starts when she wakes during the night and realises it is empty and wants a refill, but she only gets water then. Does anyone know how damaging it is to teeth? Is it not so bad when I am fairly sure she drinks it all straight away and then only gets water as a refill later?

I have only just stopped shaking. Had a call from a Major (Freya will understand why I automatically freaked) DH fell off an obstacle course flat on his back. It was a 2.5mt drop. They suspected a broken pelvis but he has been cleared. They were also worried about internal bleeding and the fact that although he could feel his legs, he was in extreme pain in his spinal region. I'm so happy that it is all just soft tissue and bruising. Waiting the hour for the results if the spindle x Ray was horrid. He is coming back home tomorrow and will be on bed rest. My God it's been a terrible afternoon but I'm so greatful because it could have ended so much worse.
