I'm still around... reading... but just feel like I have nothing left to offer to anyone. It appears very much that I am in the process of losing my job.
I feel like I have failed at everything I have tried - I'm not well enough to stay home with Sam, and can't even keep a job to support my family. Life just sucks. :(
No idea what we'll do when the inevitable happens. DH's job isn't really enough to support us, even though he can go back to working full time without hassles.

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to pop in & say I have just caught up on the reading, we have Alan home atm, so things are crazy busy, but cool.
Had a wonderful catch up with Kelly today. Her belly is soooooooo adorably cute! Looking fab as well might I add.
Am really looking forward to meeting the Mel girls in September/October.
Chat soon!
Love Jayne x

Just had to add a cracker! Alan has just seen the abbreviation 'DH' & his name right next to it & assumed that on BellyBelly the husbands are referred to as d&ckheads. Love it! Classic!
-
Guilty conscience there Alan lol
-
BW - big hugs hun, sounds like life is giving you a rough time right now. I hope you get a break soon. As Lisa asked, can you get teaching work elsewhere?
Willow - I am so so sorry to hear about your Nan. I hope the funeral went as well as possible. How is DD coping?
Mako - I am glad to hear that you are on metformin and will start clomid soon. I hope you have some success, and quickly!!
Bek - happy birthday for the other day hun. How is Eva's sleep going now? Looks like I may be joining you in the land of no sleep - DS is turning into a bad sleeper like DD, argh!!!
Michelle - thinking of you as always hun. How are the kids going? Do you have anyone staying with you now?
jayne - I would love to meet with you girls when you are in Melb. I will see what is happening closer to the time and try to arrange a trip with DH. Would be great to see you again!
Melb girls - i am not sure if this will be possible, but thought I would just try and see if we could organise a catch up. I will be in Melb late next week for a few days. Usually when we go to Melb we are pretty busy and I am with DH (and as lovely as you girls are, I think he would be terrified of the prospect of catching up with a bunch of mums and kids he doesn't know!!). Anyway, he has a test flight booked that he got for Christmas so will be at Moorabbin (?) airport for a couple of hours next Fri. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a catch up? The problem is that I am not very comfortable driving in Melb (yes, I am a wuss, but trams scare me, not to mention the whole turning right from the left lane thing!!). Do any of you live anywhere close to Moorabbin or else is there anywhere good to meet around there that you can get to? If not, no worries, I just thought I would throw it out there as I would love to meet some of you lovely ladies sometime :)

I think the reality of the situation is that the school is right. I'm not performing as I should be. It comes down to the way the arthritis is effecting me in terms of pain and fatigue, and the side effects of the meds I'm on for it leaving me in a state of mental fog. Then there's the depression and anxiety issues that have arisen again. Fact is, I'm really not capable of working full time and I feel that it's running me into the ground so badly that I just can't do it any more. We're pursuing some options regarding disability benefits for me... But even if DH goes back to work full time and I stay at home... it will be HARD but we can probably manage. Would be good if he can continue to do some days working from home to help out, but not sure what that would do to his income. It will take some time to sort out what's going to happen... If I was well enough, teaching elsewhere would be a great option. I just don't think I'm up to it right now. :(

What about relief teaching as an option?? Your skills are sought after ones - especially in your specialty field.

Maybe eventually, but not now. I need an exit path - from a job that I love in a place that I hate... I need time to get better both physically and mentally. The thoughts I was having today are pretty damned scary. Eventually I hope to be able to go back... but I doubt it will be to that school. I guess I've just got to the point where I'm tired of putting on the brave face and soldiering on - because it hurts. It hurts like hell and I'm tired all the time, but I can't sleep at night unless I take mersyndol - partly from the pain, partly because my brain won't stop. I can't keep living this way. Time to be honest and be gentle with myself and admit that I'm not superwoman.
 Michelle, I think of you a lot... I wish I had more to offer, perhaps when I get out of this hellish work place.

Morning conversation after a pretty good night of sleeping ;)
DS: the batteries aren't working
DD: why
DS: they've run out
DD: why
DS: I don't know
DD: oh no
 the conversation between a not quite 3yo and a not quite 17mo. Small things to get you through the day. Although it is nice to have DS answer the *why* questions instead of me for a change
-
Love it Michelle
BW - I am sorry you are faced with such adversity. As Michelle said your skills are sort after and when you are ready to return you'll find a position that is just right. In the meantime please go easy on yourself and take time to heal
-
Michelle that conversation is a priceless one. Focus on the small things to help you through each day. Like you said its nice that DS was able to answer the "why" questions lol. My DS asks a question and answers himself with "why betause"
BW I wish things were a bit easier for you guys too. Would you be able to work for a tutoring company in your specified field a couple of afternoons for a little while...I'm only suggesting that cos I know the hours aren't too long and its really only afternoons you'd need to be there kwim? A teacher at the primary school we used to go to used to have me for tutoring when I was in high school for the same subject that you teach and it helped me a lot. Just a suggestion ;)
Bun Thank you. I hope the same ;)
Jayne I have to confess that when I first joined BB I too thought DH stood for what your DH thought the other day pmsl. I had to have a quick look to see what all these new abbreviations meant lol.
Willow How are you doing? How did DD go on Monday?
Bek, Deb,Janie,Freya,Lisa,Kelly, Spring and whoever else I missed :hello:
I have a terrible headache this arv so really should get off this computer as it's not helping. I'm pretty sure its stress related though :(
-
Michelle - I love your kids.
Bun - im not near Moorabbin love, totally opposite direction! How long will you be there? I could try and make it that way..
-
Lisa - that's a bugger! I am only free on the Fri so not worries if it is not possible, just thought I would see if anyone was nearby. I certainly don't expect you to trek out all that way with your two little ones to see us!

Hey Guys.
Just a quick one to let you know I'm home!!! We had such a great time catching up with friends and family in Perth but it is good to be back to our own home again... I missed my bed more than anything!! LOL. We didn't get home until midnight, so am a bit tired today... but already I feel a bit lonely again. This living away from friends and family is a tough gig... I just got used to three weeks of having them all around. Not to worry, we'll be fine! Still feeling really yuck in the avo's too... so now that I have to start cooking, cleaning and running a house again, it's going to be fun. Our house is a mess. DH has been amazing though and I love him to bits.
Bun - I don't even know where Moorabin is - LOL... Janie... is it close to me??? I'm pretty happy to travel though... makes me get out and about to explore more of Melbourne.. so keep me informed!!!
Jayne - Thanks for the catch up earlier this week.. it was so lovely to see you again.... you're one hot Mumma!!!! You really are looking amazing and I just love catching up... looking forward to having you over here when you get to Melb... exciting!!!
Big hugs to everyone else that needs them (and even those that don't)!! Have another ob appointment on Monday.. still get a bit nervous but starting to get a bit more excited than nervous at each visit!!

BUTTERFLY _ I'm so sorry to hear about your job, you must be stressed to the max about the whole thing. I like Michelle's idea of relief teaching, would you go onto 'casual rates' (which are really good over here anyway?) & it wouldn't be as stressful or full time? What does DH say about it? You're a really great family & I know you will sort something out.
KELLY _ No you are the HOT MUMMA! You look so cute with your little half-basketball happening & your new haircut! I love it! I especially loved a 'mummy catch up', it was really great! Next time will be at your place! I can't wait! Oh & the Barbie mermaid for Jess is a massive hit! She is thrilled to bits with it! Phew!
MICHELLE _ Oh I love the conversations that the kids have! It's priceless sometimes. Our conversations are usually J: Claudia, I'm going to ask you to play with your barbie & even if you don't want me to, you will say yes, ok? C: Ok Jess, I will say yes, but you're not playing with my barbie. It's a crack up! When is your next OB appointment? Have you thought about appointing a 'birth partner'? There is NO WAY on this planet you are doing it alone!!!
BUN _ I"m so glad to hear that you are going to take a road-trip for us!!! How awesome, it's going to be so much fun!!! How is Josh now? Has he learned to sleep again?
WILLOW _ How did your Nan's funeral go darl? How is Miss V with everything? I can't believe your littlest man is cruising!!!!
MAKO _ I hope you're feeling heaps better today sweets. Is Sage over his cold/flu now?
BEK _ WTG on the progress with swapping rooms around. How are the girls going with it now? How is Miss Eva going?
ME _ Well Alan goes back to work tomorrow night, this week feels as though it's flown right by. Jessica is doing really well with her swimming lessons so we have let her try out for the swim club. She has passed the assessment & has completed 1 of the 4 required 'trial' training sessions. She is LOVING it! I was really apprehensive but the coaches are sooooooooo nice to her & it's not at all pushy like I imagined it to be. She is used to doing a half-hour swim lesson per week, but now it's 2 x 1 hour sessions, so I think she is going to be exhausted when the trial sessions are up. Alan is over the moon as his mother used to be in the swim club. It's a big excitement at our place atm. LOL
-
OMG I have so much to say, and only my left hand to say it with!!!!!
Bun, Moorabbin is not that close for Kel and I, but it's closer than it is for Lisa! I think we should try and do it, would love to meet you! I'll check my diary.
Lisa, have you got a HAB or similar? OMG, LIFESAVER!!!!
BW :(
Michelle, thinking of you always  Love your kids, smarties that they are!!!!
Jayne, I thought the same as Alan when I first joined! I might be coming to Perth in Sept!
Gotta dash, love to all, BBL xoxo
-
janie - you better not be in Perth whilst I'm in Melbourne!!! :o Do you have family here? Where abouts in Perth will you be? I'm starting to sweat now, I will cry if you're over here while I'm over there!!!
