It is now when we all need to gather around Michelle and help her in any way we can as she prepares to birth George. She is doing it tough ATM (check the previous thread) so this is the time as the very special bunch that we are that we need to step it up a gear and go into uber awesome support team mode.
Michelle: I'll check in on you at each feed tonight. My phone is on 24/7 and is beside my bed so no matter what, even if you just want some distraction during the night please give me a bell.
I've just spoken to her & she really is doing it tough tonight. I hope the drugs have kicked in - I think by morning little Omar will be in a better position. (just a feeling). I am here too. My Quan Yin is lit my prayers are said & my love is with you honey.
Hi Ladies,
Michelle I hope things have calmed down for you.
My doctor did call me back after he talked to the MFM doctor at the office (which took a while). I guess the nuchal fold should not measure over 5mm and bub's was almost 7mm. There was also some fluid build up in both kidneys. Both could be nothing or they could be something. The doctor said that with my blood work he doesn't feel the need to do any invasive testing. I will have everything remeasured in 4 weeks and will go from there. It sounds like it is most likely nothing, I can't help but worry. The good news is that bub is kicking and a great size.
Michelle, I hope the fact that you haven't answered your phone means you're resting. As I said, you will be in my thoughts, and I have lit a candle for you and George. Hang in there. You are a superstar at this, I know you will be this time too
Spring, your words in the OP made me cry. Perfect hun, absolutely perfect.
Laney, I'm sorry you have this worry, especially when things were looking so great. I'm glad your Dr doesn't feel there's a need to begin invasive testing. Take heart in this, and keep thinking of all those great movements your bubba is doing Here for you
Jayne, where are you lovely?
Freya, are you okay?
Lee, are you feeling less hit-by-a-truck-like? LOL at eating all those WW biccies, I used to do that haha! Sometimes you've just gotta splurge
Bun, thanks . I hope you can pop in lots while your DH is away. Mine doesn't really have to travel for work, but he does often work long hours, and sometimes 7 days a week. It can be very lonely, and my online friends keep me sane when it's tough . Wow, that festival sounds amazing!!!!
Willow and Bek, I'm missing you guys It feels weird without you.
Man oh man, I can't believe what a little superstar my baby has been today. Just the last couple of days he seems to moving out of that haphazard newborn stage, and into something of a routine. I'm aware it could all come tumbling down any moment, but I'm certainly enjoying it while it lasts!!! DS1 never really was this settled. It's amazing what a bit of knowledge and experience can do, eh? If DS2 was our first baby, he'd no doubt be suffering alot more, and we'd be plundering along thinking that it was all totally normal, without any idea of food intolerance/reflux and the like. Poor DS he really was our experimental baby. I just can't believe how different things are now we're getting on top of them (I hope!).
Michelle, I am about to head to bed to sleep in a drug-induced haze. My thoughts are with you.
Bad day for the arthritis here. Cold weather doesn't normally make me hurt, but we've had a couple of days of bitter cold where I've struggled to keep warm and the pains in my legs are horrendous. Hoping he panadeine forte will kick in soon so I can get some sleep - the boys have already gone long ago.
Laney, I hope you can focus on the positives and not stress too much between now and the next scan.
Michelle Congratulations gorgeous Mumma on bringing George safely into the world. I hope his NICU stay is a short one. I wish you a speedy recovery too.
Welcome to the world precious George.
Michelle - Congratulations hun.. I can't imagine what you're going through right now but hope you're hanging in there and I hope that you know just how much we all care about you! Little George certainly is one very precious little baby who has the most amazing Mummy!
Bek - It makes me feel so sad that you're so lonely... massive hugs.
Mako - How are you today? Has the pain eased? Do you know what it is yet? I hope everything is ok hun.
Laney - I'm glad things are sounding a little better for you... what a scare. Praying all will be ok.
Janie - Woo Hoo little D.. what a champ! How's N going today with the TTing.. have been thinking of you!! Was great to chat the other day... you'll never guess though... after all that talk about how great Luke is doing with the TTing and how we haven't had a night time accident yet... well that very next morning, I was woken by tears from Luke yelling out "Mummy... I've done wees in my bed"!!!!!! It's always the way!! LOL.
Jayne - I'm thinking of you too hun... hope you're doing ok.
Bun - Hope you're hanging in there too and wish we were closer... I could use some company right now too!!!
Sorry, not really thinking straight atm.. have so much going through my head right now and feeling quite 'down'. Took the MIL to the airport this morning and I always get this way when someone leaves... even though I couldn't of lasted much longer with her here - LOL. It's so weird. Also had an absolutely terrible time with Luke the other night. He's going through a really bad stage atm... he's just so horrible at times.. yells and screams at us for no reason and just generally seems to go out of his way to make life difficult. I don't get it... and feel like a bit of a failure sometimes. We were trying to go out to dinner with the MIL before she left and Luke was acting up like usual but in a really bad way.. just talking really nasty and hitting us (like usual)... well I think I had a bit of a moment and just totally snapped. I'm so embarrassed to even admit it... but it was in front of DH and MIL... so didn't go down well. DH actually screamed at me to get away from Luke... as if I was going to hurt him or something... wtf? I would NEVER hurt my child. I was absolutely devistated that he would think that... I just got a bit angry but would never hurt him. Anyway I took myself into our bedroom and just laid there crying for a while... then DH finally came up and we talked it out. Needless to say, we didn't get to dinner. I'm over it now.. but it still bothers me a bit iykwim? Sorry to dump this... especially now when Michelle needs all of our support but I just needed to get it out. I'm just feeling a bit down and it helps to have a bit of an outlet. I miss my Mum so much and have been getting a bit lonely again. I don't expect a response... we need to focus on the bigger picture... which is the very beautiful Michelle and George.
Congrats Michelle hun, wow, I really wasn't expecting to pop in and hear that news! I am so glad your beautiful boy George has made it safely earthside. I am praying that he stays strong and will soon be by your side. And rest up hun, you must be totally exhausted after all that you have been through. Thinking of you and sending you all my strength hun. I wish I could do or say more... always thinking of you xx
jayne - I am worried about you hun. How are things going?
Janie - I hate being on my own so much, especially when the kids aren't sleeping well. Counting down til DH gets back... Glad to hear that D has found a bit of a routine, I hope he keeps it up! Don't feel bad about N being the 'experimental child', I think all first children are! DD had bad reflux and it took over 5 months for me to get it sorted out. Before then she just screamed ALL the time. Now of course I know that there was something wrong, but at the time I just thought that is what babies are like.
Freya - how are you doing hun?
mako - how are you feeling today?
Bek - so sorry you are feeling lonely hun. I think it's such irony that a SAHM is never alone, yet it can feel like the loneliest job in the world! We are all here and we understand. Pop in if you ever feel the need, but we also understand how hard it can be to get the time. How are the plans going for Eva's birthday party?
kelly - you sound just like me a couple of weeks ago! My meltdown at DD happened in public (at the library) and it was soooo embarrassing, but sometimes they just push us so far that we snap. We are only human, and no one has endless patience! I know it is hard not to feel mad at yourself for getting angry, but it is only natural. Of course you would never hurt your child. DH did a similar thing to me when DD was little and I was at the end of my tether having had no sleep for so long, and he took DD off me like I was going to hurt her as she had been crying for hours. Sometimes I don't think they understand how hard being a SAHM is and how worn down your patience can get. Hugs hun, I know just how you are feeling right now. I wish I was closer too - I would definitely up to for a catch up!
laney - what a scare! It sounds like everything will be ok, but I guess now you can't help worrying and the waiting is a killer. I hope time passes quickly. Good to hear that bubs is a good size and moving lots though.
We had another bad night. Even though DS is now on solids, he is also wanting three hourly feeds at night! And DD is still waking during the night too. I took them both to creche today so I could go to the gym - what an ordeal!! Getting two kids to creche, on time and settling them before my class started - gees, not sure I am up for that again. We are off to the kids festival again tomorrow. I swear it will be the end of me, but DD had such a good time there the other day that I feel like I have to take her again. And at least it is something to do rather than being home alone. I am still feeling a bit down for no reason, I think it is all just getting on top of me. And it really hurts that although my parents know I am on my own, they never contact me. They wouldn't come over and stay while DH is away as my sis is going through a break up and they didn't want to leave her, which is fair enough I suppose. But just a phone call to see how I am doing would be nice, and I don't feel too much to ask?? They never contact me - it is always me contacting them. I am thinking of starting an experiment - to see how long it would take for them to contact me if I don't contact them. When I do talk to them they are only interested in the kids anyway. I know I sound pathetic, but right now I reckon if it wasn't for DH phoning every day, no one would even know if something happened to me. Sometimes it is nice to feel loved I suppose! Ok, vent over now...
hello my lovelies... I am so delighted that George has arrived earthside.. Michelle hun you have done an amazing job in carrying Georgie boy and birthing him into this world. Hope your holding each other tight and you both have a speedy recovery. Thinking of you and sending you love and light xx
Hey ladies - can someone tell me or sms me the hossy our Michelle is at??
Any news on Michelle and George?
Kelly - Hugs. I have been there done that a few times before. I call them mummy meltdowns and I always seem to have them in front of my DH. To make matters worse you know you've been silly and irrational and they like to rub salt into the wounds (unintentionally most times). Loren has been a really explosive toddler and she did start to hit quite a bit. I read the No cry discipline solution and found some really helpful tips, that helped me stay in control and Loren too.
Bun - hugs too. Talk to your parents and tell them how you feel. You are doing really well
Kel Congrats on hitting the 20 week mark Sage is also testing the boundaries alot atm. I'm thinking its the age they are at and just trying to figure out exactly what they can get away with. Its not much fun when they scream at you for no reason or just because they can't have what they want.
Freya I hope you are having a wonderful day and I hope you managed to get a cake!!
Jayne How are you doing hun? I think of you so often
Bun I'd call your mum and have a chat with her about how you are feeling. I hope the little ones are doing ok and sleeping a bit more for you while their Daddy is O/S.
Janie Glad to hear the TTing is going ok. Just try not to put too much pressure on yourself or on N. He's still only a little boy The pre school I'm thinking of sending Sage to next year said they have quite a few 3 and 4 year olds who are still in nappies.
Deb How's that headache of yours? I hope it found the door fairly quickly I think of you often too and wonder how you and the kids are doing
Michelle I'm thinking of you and Baby George. I've just had a look at your newest pics and they are just beautiful. You have a very special boy there who is most definately being watched over by his Daddy
Spring How are you doing? Happy 6 months to Ben for the other day
I'm ok. The pain I had the other day has gone so I'm not too sure what it was but I'm not worrying about it now. We've had a busy weekend.DH and I both worked yesterday and then we all went to an Engagement Party last night. Sage had a blast playing with some other kids there and this morning we went to see Shrek 4. DH liked it and I liked what I saw of it. Sage was too busy running around the cinema and dancing and decided to hide his boots lol. It wasn't until we started to leave that I realised he only had his socks on lol. I'm so pleased there was only abou10 people max in the cinema as I'd feel so bad if he was running around doing what he was doing if it was packed. He wasn't being noisy or anything..just dancing and running up and down the isle and thinking it was a slippery slide by sitting on his bum and sliding down saying weee weee lol.
