How long will DD need a pushchair?

DS1 will be 3 in 2 weeks time and he still regularly sits in pram or asks to be carried!! I am glad we have the phil and ted Dash so they both can sit in pram.

I did use close carrier for first 6 - 9 months a lot as well.

DS1 stopped napping at 25 months when he went into a bed!!! He will nap some times if really tired he will crash on couch and does generally sleep 1 day a week at CC. (only goes 1 day)

It's hard to say as it depends on the child and how much you walk. We walk pretty much everywhere so dd1 could get tired and still sit in the pram at 4. Other kids I know have stopped going in it at 2.

This sounds exactly like my situation 2 years ago! I did not wish to spend money on a new pram, so - like you - planned to use the hugabub for the first bit, and see if DD would start wanting to walk.

Then I saw the ergo! Problem solved! The ergo is much easier to put on, and I am still using it with DS today (on my back). I have even carried DD (aged 4) in it, on my back. I also found that with my pram, if it was in the upright position (DS strapped in), DD happily sat in the basket.

When we go to the shops, I can put DS on my back and DD in a trolley, sometimes DD sits in the trolley (or walks) and DS in the trolley seat. I also have an umbrella stroller for those trips where you don't need a trolley (though it is used rarely, because DD does prefer to walk). Sometimes I insist that DD go in the trolley or the stroller, because if she is in a 'mood' that is best for everyone ().

So long story short - see how you go with the hugabub/pram plan you have, if that doesn't work you will probably see a new solution based on the situation.

It very much depends on the child and what you do. Is she a runner, or does she walk nicely by you and do you go for long walks etc. I had a second hand double pram just for walks with my first two as DS1 was 3 and too big for a stroller etc but still known to run off. It's also good if you are out & about at a show etc for a long time & they can all rest. 2yrs is still very young. Could you get a second hand pram (with two seats) or a double stroller they are cheaper.
