My 4 year old DS and 2.5 year old DD have started sharing a room, and DD2 has moved from co-sleeping with me into the nursery. We initially made the move just to test whether the two older kids would be ok in the same room together, and they are really loving it. My son has a huge king double loft bed and there is no room for a cot for my DD in the room (she's currently in the significantly smaller portacot), so we are looking at our options for beds. Hubby is keen to pack up the big bed and store it for now, and get a set of bunks for them. Now I'm wondering whether we should get a double or queen bed and let them sleep together...? A part of me has always liked the idea of a "family bed", but hubby is happy having the kids out of our room and in their own rooms. But I know that I like sleeping with someone right next to me, so I'm sure that kids probably do as well. Do many people have their kids co-sleeping in the same bed? I'm not sure if it's a "normal" thing to do... Not that I tend to follow the "norm" lol
