aww poor little man. I try and avoid the playgrounds during school holidays/after school has finished for the day cause I don't want to run into any nasty little children..I don't think I'd have the guts to go off at them!
Surely it's not that hard for parents to teach their kids that it's ok to be polite!

It's such a tough age isn't it, my 4yo doesn't get social cues too well (speech issues here too), and just wants to be friends! I do think I'm hurt more than he is, but you have my empathy - it's so tough hey.

it's funny, i never think of xavi having speech issues, because he has a huge vocabulary, but for new people, it is sometimes hard for them to understand what he's saying. i'm hoping it's an age thing? we don't haveany issues understanding him, so i sorta expect others to be the same. i also have to remember i spose that the kids i berated, were kids, but as a mama, i was so upset for my little guy..

It's easy to forget that not everyone thinks our kids are as awesome as we do... its so hard hey. I cant even imagine how hard that would have been to watch, good on you for saying something!

the big kids who muscle in on a small kids' playground and play rough are the ones that really annoy me.

I understand completely. DS is mocked mercilessly by older kids for his speech and he gets so frustrated when they ignore him. Poor Xavi

well, i spoke to the gp about xavi's speech last thursday, and asked if he needed to go to a speech therapist. and he said definately not, his speech was on track for 4 years, just to make sure i remind him to slow down etc. so that was a massive weight off my shoulders.

and yep, i will continue to have a go at other kids in playgrounds etc, it's not the first time i've done it, and i'm sure it wont be the last. and, i think play centres are the WORST for this behaviour from bigger kids.
