What do you love about having a little boy?

I only have a girl (who I was convinced was a boy) so I cant say what boys are like, but from what I have heard, boys are more loving and cuddly and love theri mummy. My little girl isnt like that at all, little miss independent! I wish she was cuddly! I cant wait to oneday have a boy

I don't have kids, but I have a nephew and he is amazing! He never doesn't want you around, always wants to get in and play and ALWAYS gets so much joy from his family. He says things to his mum (My sis) like, "mummy, you are so beautiful" and "You are the prettiest mummy in the world"!

Who wouldn't melt hearing that from their little boy!

DOn't fear, it's ok to feel awkward through adjusting to this news, but even if you don't know it, you are already in love with him

Thank you all so much...you are making me feel better already. I feel bad for feeling bad but cannot help it.

I am going to do some shopping therapy this afternoon. A couple of cute boy outfits will help.

Oh Shazzi they DO!! I now have two wonderful and handsome men in my life - DH and DS

Little boys are darling, they love their Mummies dearly and they have wonderful energy. I also thought I wanted a girl, but gosh, I wouldn't give up my precious little man for anything, boys rock.

I also personally LOVE to play with him and all his toys - we have a massive train table that we have hours of fun with, and boys toys are cool

Also, there is something VERY VERY special about seeing your DH with his son - its just ....MAGICAL!! The pride and joy my DH has in the fact that our DS worships him makes my heart burst with happiness

So in a nutshell - Boys are simply delightful

We love our little man to bits I am a bit girly and although I would love a baby girl but I wouldn't change anything for the world.
To me little boys are just the cutest things and even shopping for them is sooo much fun...and SOOOO easy!! Trains, Cars, blocks, trucks, dirt, sticks....gosh the list goes on and they love all of it!!
From what I hear/see they are very easy to please and very cuddly little men.
You are very lucky to have one of each to spoil...best of both worlds hun

my little boy is only 19.5 months but he's totally AWESOME (ok, slight mummy bias here )....he is so loving & cuddly - i get kisses & cuddles all day. he already eats almost anything (including dirt!). he loves playing with a footy, trains & cars but loves dolls & pushing a stroller with a toy as well. clothes are so easy & i don't have to stress about him wanting to wear something too old for his age before i'm ready for it

i can't speak for what they're like as they get older, but as a toddler, it rocks having a boy!

and don't feel bad for feeling like you do sometimes we can't control these emotions

I too had never pictured myself with a little boy, but my DS is so awesome I wouldn't have it any other way!

He is so much fun and so full of energy. He's not a rough boy, he is gentler than most of the little girls his age. He is so affectionate, always giving me kisses and cuddles without me having to ask!
He loves being outside more than anything - just wandering around and picking up dirt or rocks. He is so interested in the world around him.

Honestly, once you have your little boy in your arms you won't want it any other way .

can i suggest you get your hands on a copy of the book 'Raising Boys' by Steve Biddulph.it is a great read and gives you lots of fantastic info.

Shazzi - I will fully admit that I cried when I found out I was pg with my DS. I am such a girly girl and I just didn't know anything about boys. I am so glad I found out at 20 weeks so I could used to the idea, that's how set I was on having a girl. Well - I LOVE having a boy. He is loving and hysterically funny. He is, I must admit, very active, but then he sleeps really well . He amuses himself with his 'building site' that he has built out in the backyard, but also loves to cook and paint and help me around the house. As for the 'dressing' part, I initally was sad because I thought I would miss out on the thrill of dressing a little girl, but dressing DS is just as fun - I love finding cool tshirts and funky jeans for him, and I've been styling his hair since he was about 1 and a half (much to DH's horror ).
The other thing I have found with DS and his friends is they are all so cruisy. Nothing much seems to worry them. DS definiately can have a tantrum like the next kid, but he seems to get over it easily.

Shazzi, firstly let me just say that I was never going to find out the sex of my second because I so desperately wanted a girl, that I didn't want to ever have any negative feeling towards a boy if I was indeed having one. I did find out just after 30weeks and we were able to name him.
Nearly two years ago I got my little guy, and never did I think a child so loving could come into the world. He is so totally different to his sister and yet totally the same. He does like boy stuff but he loves to play with Darcy and her girl stuff more...because he is playing with her.
The penis thing at nappy time was different too lol.

Ahh, boys. I have two. And i married one. I have a big brother and he's a bit useless, but we all love him and he was incredibly protective of me and my sister even though he's only 18 months older than me. I loved growing up with a brother in the family mix - there were always males around, and i believe that being friends with them helped me as a girl to see boys as friends and equals,

My boys seem to be very affectionate, especially the almost 3 year old. He is also very very active and loves outdoors and bikes and dirtiness and so he is often wearing himself out. They're easier to get their hair done! No clips or bows or plaits!
