    17 month olds sleeping patterns

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. DD2 is now almost 17 months old and she is driving me crazy at night time. I've tried working with her it seemed she wanted to go to bed later so ive extended bedtime from 6 to 7 and changed nap times to work in with it. She gets up at 6.30-7 has lunch at 11.30 then down for a nap at 12 until around 1-1.30 (never been the best napper) now bed at 7 well shes STILL not sleeping i dont know what to do to get her to sleep at night i dont want to give her 2 bottles IMO 1 is enough, ive changed the nap times and bedtimes, any suggestions?

How long ago did you make the changes? It does take awhile for them to adjust to a new "routine" or a small change to the existing routine.

I don't have any real answers for you - but HEAPS of support as DS#1 was a shocking sleeper and didn't start sleeping through the night until he was three. At 17 months he was still waking frequently despite my refusing to give him boobie in the middle of the night.

The only suggestion I would offer is to ask how much time she spends outdoors playing? I find that if DS#1 spends about an hour outside enjoying physical play he often sleeps better at night. DH and I have been taking the boys to the park after dinner for about an hour and then we come home and put them to bed.

He will be four in February and he usually wakes at least once at night to do a wee, and once or twice a week he comes in our bedroom around 4am so he comes into bed with us usually.

This is a HUGE improvement to the old days.

As I said, not a lot of answers for you, but hopefully some support. I will watch this thread to see how you go.

thanks at least im not alone in getting no sleep!
the changes to bedtimes were made a week and a half ago I thought she would have settled into it by now. As for outdoors play we live on just over 2 acres so the kids are always outside either playing or helping with the sheep, cows or chickens.
Once she gives in and goes to sleep thats it for the night since she started sleeping through a month ago but for 1-2 hours before she does go to sleep she will cry and scream. I tried the gentle parenting approach with her that didnt help at all so tried the CC approach that seems to be working better but i feel bad doing that.
