Rinnie - I hear you!!! My 3-year-old DS1 does this too. I hear what everyone is saying about how lovely and sweet it is ... and it IS at times ... but equally it can be extremely frustrating and tiring when said toddler kicks the blankets off every 10 minutes, squirms and wriggles and elbows you in the tummy or head ... lays sideways across the bed. On it can go. They are the nights I would happily put a lock on his door if I thought he'd turn around and go back to his bed if he found his door locked. Sadly, he'd cry the house down - and I'd feel Awful, with the capital A. Don't get me wrong, I do love my little boy's cuddles and snuggles of a morning ... I just wish he'd climb into bed THEN for it. Not at 2am ... or 10pm some nights!

I'm racking my brains trying to come up with a solution. It's nice when he sleeps quietly and still, but it's the opposite when he's restless. So far my "solution" with DS2 (who sleeps in his cot every night) is to not let him into our bed in the first place!! He don't miss what he don't know LOL
