    Hi Jaz,
I noted that no one had replied so thought i would just pop in. I don't have much advice as my little one has slept in the own room from very early on as myself and DH would wake her up everytime we went into our room (as you would probably understand!). I guess the only thing i really remember doing was starting off small - so i had DD sleep in her room for day sleeps initially. I would give her a bottle a cuddle and into bed. Now that she is crawling and all over the cot allll of the time i do the same and then leave her. every 10 min or so i will go back in if she is sitting up in her cot and lie her down and tell her 'it's time for sleeps'. This somedays tkaes up to an hour but she does eventually fall alseep. At night i do pretty much the same thing. I guess perserverance and consistency will be the key if you want him to sleep in his own room.

Sorry i'm not much help but good luck!

Have you looked at the book 'no cry sleep solutions'? It deals with exactly this situation.

I would probably try to get DS sleeping in his cot first and then move him in to his own room.

Where does he sleep for naps? Can you start him sleeping in his room for naps so he gets used to it?

I second what Kate07 has said about the No Cry Sleep Solution book. It has really gentle ideas for transitioning babies.
