This is the exact reason our 5 cats are indoor/enclosure only cats..... i am horribly scared of something happening to them! It is so hard.... they become like our children.. afterall they are family!
Oh mrsmac how horrible! I hope Keely makes a full recovery - sounds like she will with her kind of spirit! So was the collar getting caught the cause of everything? How on earth cats manage to do some things... I am terrified of my cat's collar getting caught on something. I got her a collar with tough, but stretchy elastic so if it ever got caught she could get her head out of it.
oh thats just terrible *big hugs* I can totally imagine how you felt when she turned up like that!
our cats have a collar on them with elastic as well so it stretches...my sister has one that has a clip so if her cat gets it caught on a branch or something it'll come undone so doesnt strangle the kittie.

Keeley was moved to our vets which is closer (and cheaper LOL) and we picked her up yesterday afternoon. They have decided not to operate on her wound as she is still very weak and it will heal by itself eventually. The vet nurses were lovely and they gave us heaps of kitten food samples for free as they know our financial situation! We now just have to feed her up and keep an eye on the wound, she is nothing but skin and bone which is so sad but she is so happy to be home. Last night Jess sat on her bed and Keeley got up the strength to jump up next to her which was amazing (she adores Jess) We are so grateful she is OK and amazed at her strength and will power.
Thank you for all your kind thoughts.
