Hi girls,
I'm Emma almost 30 (yikes), I have a 16 month daughter and another due in 10 weeks. I live in Ross Creek, have been in Vic since July last year. Originally a Victorian (Casterton born) but have been living in Bunbury WA for the past nearly 6 years. Another lady on here Lorelle got me onto a great playgroup in Ballarat (sturt street) St Peters Parish up near Pleasant Street, the hall is around the back of the church. You don't have to be a member of the church, you just pay a gold coin donation and bring a piece of fruit to share, it's every Wed from 10 til about 11.30am and it's wonderful. I tried a couple and this is the best one and the kids ages are young too which is nice.
So if you are ever interested just pop in, you can come and go as you like.![]()

Anyone wanting to catch up/have coffee/walk 'lake' or suggest a good friendly playgroup let me know!
hi i have not long moved to ballarat. i was just looking up play groups on google and came across this. i have a 13 month old girl, i hardly know anyone in ballarat im only 19 and my partner works pretty long hours so it gets pretty lonley. if anyone has any info on play groups or anything like that can you please let me know.
Hi, I put a post on here a while ago looking for people to meet/places to go in Ballarat. I have since come across a group on Facebook called Families of Ballarat and surrounds. If you are on facebook look them up, they have regular events to catch up each week plus sometimes organise nights out to the movies etc for the parents so it seems quite social! They even have regular walks around the lake as well. I havent been to anything yet, but am going along to the weekly catch up at Happy Jacks next Tuesday to finally meet some people. Its hard to meet people in Ballarat and its even harder finding things to do in this weather to actually get out of the house with bubs, so hopefuly this group is the answer. Apparently, the woman who runs it (Rachael) is very friendly and makes sure your introduced around and made to feel welcome. I will let you know how my first meet and greet goes!![]()
just had a look at it then thanks heaps. do you now if you have to call anyone first or do you just show up to the events?
Im part of that groupWhat ae your names?
Charlahsmummy- Just join the group and you will be invited to all the events then you just rsvp![]()
I guys, thanks for the Facebook thing, will get onto it myself. We have now been here a year, my goodness it has flown. Loving it here wouldn't move anywhere else.
I too don't know many people at all, we go to 2 playgroups and do swimming. One playgroup I just love and so does Eliza as well, she is nearly 22 mths and my little Sienna is 11 weeks old. The playgroup is at St Peters Parish hall behind the church on Sturt street up near Pleasant Street. Starts at 10am just bring gold coin donation and piece of fruit. Lovely ladies there and loads of nice people.
The other one is the New Residents playgroup held Mondays from 9.30am at the Eastwood Leisure Centre on town on Eastwood Street. That's $20 for the term, Amy is in charge and I know they do nights out for the ladies. Just bring a piece of fruit.
Any sorry the other playgroup is Wednesdays.
Shall check out this facebook page, thanks girls
Em
