*sneaking back in cause i miss you girls =( *

just a heads up Bonham, and i'm sure the other girls will vouch for this (unless its changed cause it has been a while..) anyway... public transport in the berra is much to be desired for...has been useless any times ive gone to use it lately, and before that when i got it regularly (which was a while) was slightly less useless but still useles..

    how are you finding canberra??

Teirae: so public transport in Canberra is much like Sydney? unreliable. I'm finding that i like Canberra, we move around for DF's work, the weather here isn't much different to Cowra. Apart from venturing out & about when DF is home, i mostly stay at home so i'm looking forward to getting out & about on my own with the kids and meeting some lovely ladies.

Public transport isn't the best here. All we have is the bus system, and you will discover that there isn't very good coverage to areas like MacGregor. I relied on the bus system for 4yrs, I only got my liscence in Feb of this year.

I think there are about 5 or so of us BB girls living in the new part of Macgregor now. I am not sure if they have buses running through the new area yet, you may need to walk into the old area or closer down to Kippax. First Time Mumma would know.

Hey Joanne i know the buses like the back of my hand (while they are SO unreliable and the bus drives are horrible) i'll hopefully be coming to this meet up i can catch the bus with you. Will you be bringing a pram or so you have a sling for DS?

Sadly I wont be able to make it as I work on Tuesdays. I am one of the mums in the new macgregor area. We should organise a meet in one of the parks there one day.

Just thought I would let you all know I am going to be hosting a tupperware party on a sunday in November (either 14th or 28th) everyone is welcome - great chance to meet up and gossip, I don't expect anyone to buy anything you can just come and have a cuppa. Anyway, I will give out more details once I have it all booked in.

Hey KaileysMummy, that would be awesome i know you told me where to get the bus from & which 1 to get but i didnt write it down i'll have the pram for DS and DD will walk (and hopefully not run off) i dont currently have a sling for DS. Are the bus drivers funny about having prams on the buses?.

A meet-up for the one's of us in Macgregor sounds like a great idea. KaileysMummy do you mean the fenced off grassed area at the front of the estate?.

My advice is if you can go without a pram on the bus, do so. Otherwise if you have a little umbrella stroller that is light and easy to carry on and off, use that. I don't think any of the disabled buses come up our way, so that means you will need to fold the pram up and carry it on yourself. The bus drivers aren't allowed to help, and some are downright rude and will drive off before you are even seated. Biggest tip - hand the baby to the driver while you load the pram (don't ask, just hand the baby over): then he cann't drive off until you are ready and you have someone to hold bubs while you are doing everything.
