Just wanted to say a big thank you for this morning - we had a FAB time! It was soooo great to meet you all and i can't wait for the next meet-up. Who would have thought that there'd be so many cool and funky mums in Canberra!
My two monkeys are now safely snoozing away in their rooms (well, I think they're snoozing - maybe just resting - but who cares, right? They're in their rooms and I'm free for an hour or so to veg on the computer - yippee!!) so they have had an absolutely awesome time too.
I'd love to catch-up with you guys if anyone is ever bored as well! Just PM me (I've just worked out how all that works!) and I'd love to catch up. Mon and Tues I only have one munchkin which is a bit easier in terms of being able to have a good old chinwag and a coffee, and sometimes Thursdays as well.
Thanks again girls - hanging out for the next one already! You guys rock
Yay, sounds great. I'm in. Only one kidlet on those days so I will be a little more relaxed - yippee!
(P.S. Misty I found you on FB - yay! - and found mad4e and starbright on your page too - yay - hi girls. Have clicked to add you all to my FB page as my FB page was slightly tricky to find due to having to keep private from all my ex-students!).
Look forward to seeing you all again soon!
Cheers and have a tops night!
Shazz
Im a new mummy, who would like to join a mothers group. My son is 5 weeks old. I would love to meet new mums and bubba's. I live in Isabella Plains but can meet anywhere. Was wondering when the next meet up will be?
Deana - We are meeting up next week at the playground at the Belconnen Fresh food markets (just up the road from westfeilds), tuesday next week (26th???) at 10.30am. You are more then welcom to come. If you cann't make it to that one, we will probably be having another about 2-3 weeks later out at Lollipops (brand depot) again.
Bonham - Are you in MacGregor too?!? There are quite a few of us here - must be the place to live . Depending who is coming, we may be able to sort out a lift (I would give you one, but have no room in the car) or at the very least I can help you sort out buses.
misty: yep i'm in Macgregor in the new estate. I'll have both DD & DS with me on Tuesday. No worries that you can't give me a lift, really makes me determined to want to get my license sorted once & for all so i can drive myself around without relying on others or public transport.
just a heads up Bonham, and i'm sure the other girls will vouch for this (unless its changed cause it has been a while..) anyway... public transport in the berra is much to be desired for...has been useless any times ive gone to use it lately, and before that when i got it regularly (which was a while) was slightly less useless but still useles..
Teirae: so public transport in Canberra is much like Sydney? unreliable. I'm finding that i like Canberra, we move around for DF's work, the weather here isn't much different to Cowra. Apart from venturing out & about when DF is home, i mostly stay at home so i'm looking forward to getting out & about on my own with the kids and meeting some lovely ladies.
Public transport isn't the best here. All we have is the bus system, and you will discover that there isn't very good coverage to areas like MacGregor. I relied on the bus system for 4yrs, I only got my liscence in Feb of this year.
I think there are about 5 or so of us BB girls living in the new part of Macgregor now. I am not sure if they have buses running through the new area yet, you may need to walk into the old area or closer down to Kippax. First Time Mumma would know.
Hey Joanne i know the buses like the back of my hand (while they are SO unreliable and the bus drives are horrible) i'll hopefully be coming to this meet up i can catch the bus with you. Will you be bringing a pram or so you have a sling for DS?
