I had forgotten about it!! Can you please PM me the details?

I cant get hold of C-Link to fix my CCB either, coz they cut it for the week of 16/11 even though I was entitled to it. Their numbers are constantly busy when I try to call

Ok as some of you may know I am a Cairns girls all the way..... But last night BHL mention the almost unthinkable, a move to Townsville instead of back to Cairns!!!!

Ok I know its not all bad there and seeing as I have only been there once ( all the other times we just drive on though) but as you know if you have lived in Cairns you love Cairns and if you have lived in Townsville you love townsville....

Anyway BHL job ( well the whole site looks like it might shut down ) is under threat ATM which is scary enough but on the bright side a mate out there has told him that he has a job in a new site in emerald and wants to take BHL with him but they ONLY FIFO of Townsville so told BHL that we might have to look into moving there and not Cairns...

so my questions are where are the good burbs to look at we would be renting so 4 bed at about $ 400 pw

and would you still love and be nice to me even though I bag Brownsville

Tali - officially i am not a "townsville lady" just yet but i think everyone would welcome you no matter what!! I do love Cairns as well.....but i onlylived there for a month before moving back to townsville! I found it a nice place to visit but not to live!!
Rental prices seem ok - i use a website and they send me regular emails when new listings come up with what i have said that i want - you could always give that a go......

Well not much of a Brownsville atm, is nice and green!!! I am a Townsville girl, yes I like cairns, but also just to visit not to live!!! But....as for suburbs....I think the safest bet for a nice newish house for $400 - stick to Kirwan/Mt Louisa areas. Cheapish rentals but nice family areas. Would prob steer clear of Rasmussan, Kelso, Condon- some nice areas, but hard to pick if you are looking on the net without actually looking in person. There are some very dodgy areas there thats all (no offense to anyone that lives up that way!!) Oh, if you like livng a bit out of town try Bushland Beach! Prob bit more expensive though, but nice! Good Luck!

Tali - I am in a 4br house with 2 living areas in Mt Louisa and the LL gets $395 per week - we only pay a portion of that and DHA pay the rest. Considering our place is new I think that it is about the standard rental for a place like this in this area. We are in the new section and there is a nice playground right near the middle of our estate, so if you moved in to my estate you would be walking distance from a park.

Finally got through to C-Link and sorted the CCB so once Daycare talk to C-Link my bill will be smaller and as soon as SIL's money clears into account then it is all paid!! I hate it when C-Link fiddle with payments

I have to agree with Shell - the only brown bits I see are the bits that our sprinkers miss

I need to get the lawn mower fixed. I bet our PM is going to drop a note in our letterbox again soon telling us to mow the lawn when it was only done 2 weeks ago!! It is getting quite long again!

Tali - houses your looking for out here at Bushland Beach go for around $400 a week. Our house is beautiful (as are the others in our street), all tiled very spacious 4beddys with decent yards and all the mod-cons. Quiet out here too I love it!

And you can bag out T-Ville all you like, I dislike it too

Well i have to say I Townsville i hated it when i did not have kids, but now love it as i think its a very family place! (plus ive lived here my whole life) also love Cairns but only for holidays too touristy for me!
And yes very green here at the moment!
Well i live in Rasmussen and it aint any were near as bad as it use to be!! And for suburbs to avoid there all much the same you get the same problems everywere you live, altho i would never live in Garbutt or parts off south Townsville ~cringes at thought~!m I was renting a 4 bedroom House 2 bathroom open plan living fully a/c and garage, but only small yard for $330 a week try the rental websites they are a great help .

Did any1 go to the carols last night? Grr i did f-ing rain recked it all

Thanks for all the ideas girls.... ATM I have no idea whats happening... BHL still has his job for now and I it stays this way.... but the site has stopped all FIFO of everywhere but Townsville... BHL is due home on thursday and we will see what happens from there... the way things are going ATM with the world the way it is we might even end up back in the Navy, which then we will just move where even they put us... Knowing our luck it will be WA or something but if its money and a secure job then so be it for a few year until the world rights its self again...

But I will let you know whats happening and if we are heading up that way...

Thanks again for your in put....

BTW shame about the carols believe it or not it was rain out here in Melb too.... but its blooming freezing here when it rains... so think of me as its only been 19 here for the last 4 days

    Smile Lonely Mum

    Hi Ladies,

I am moving to Townsville in February because of my husbands work and am looking for some mums to meet up with. I don't know anybody in Townsville and am looking forward to meeting some mums to form some friendships.

I notice you have a mothers group going and was wondering if I may join you some time or if anybody would like to meet up for a cuppa sometime once I am there.

I have a 3 month old Daughter and she is my first.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi Girls!

    Happy New Year!!!

Hope you all had a lovely Chrissie and New Years. Our was simple and quiet. Sad to say that I was in bed before 10pm on NYE though. Ah well starting to get used to that!!

Mumma D - Welcome to Belly Belly and Townsville Mum's! As my username states - I'm Sara. I am mum to Briley(2.5yrs) and Colby(17mnths). I am a Townsville girls born and bred.

A few of the girls meet up on Friday mostly at a playcentre called Lollipops. A couple of others also meet with other mothers group through other forums. I try and get along as often as I can but my girls are in kindy on Fridays. There hasn't been any meets latey cause of the festive season but I'm sure there will be some organised soon. We are a very friendly bunch and always welcome new mums and bubs. So when a meet is organised, feel free to come along.

Can I ask where you're moving from?

Well the girls go back to Kindy next Monday but only until the 24th of Jan. Our FDC mum gave away our spot to someone who needed it more "urgently" but not until the 24th of Jan. So I am a bit pi$$ed about that. Have to find another 2 spots now.

I have applied for a couple of part-time admin jobs to get some extra cash. I haven't really getting much interest from Doula clients so I have to try elsewhere until things starting looking up.

Not much else to report. The girls are good. Cheeky as hell!

    Hope you are all well....

    Talk soon!

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply Sara. My name is Kara and my daughter is Jordan Bella-Jade. We are moving from Charters Towers to Townsville (thank God). I originally moved here for work 2 years ago. I am a Music Teacher (well before I was a full time mum). Before that I moved from Brisbane but pretty much grew up in Hervey Bay. I am originally from WA though.

I would love to join you at your next meet. Thanks for letting me know.

Hope everybody had a fantastic Christmas and New Year : )

    Take care
