    6 weeks pregnant - spotting

Hi all. Just after a bit of advice if any of you can help me please. I am 6ish weeks pregnant and around lunchtime had some browny coloured discharge. It was very creamy/sticky and sort of a light muddy colour. Then a few hours later, it was tinged a very very light pink. Then tonight I see more of a watery pink discharge. There hasn't been alot considering its been going on for 9 hours but enough to scare me. I am not having any cramps etc other than a slight backache but my boobs which have been killing me have stopped hurting all of the sudden. Feeling very worried and wondering whether this is justified or not?

    Any thoughts?

I know this is easier said than done (cause I have been there in 2 pg's), but try not to stress.

Have you had any blood tests yet? Cause it may be worth getting to check that your HCG levels are rising to put your mind at rest. While a scan is the best way to check on bub, there is a big chance that at 6 weeks you won't see anything and it will make you worry more, especially if your dates are out.

My body continuously changed in the early weeks, and during my 1st pg, I was very panicky at every stage..

    Thanks Heather for your reply

I did have a scan last Thursday but nothing could be seen except a sac, which they said was normal for this far along. There was a 5 day diff between my dates and their date but they said this is pretty normal too since it was just a tummy scan and apparently things change every single day at this early stage. I have an appt with the GP on Tues and am supposed to be getting a referral to the OB then.

I am trying not to stress too much but it's hard because I've been trying to find some more info about the watery discharge and it's all so conflicting. If it continues overnight, I'll give the Dr a call in the morning and see what she says.

I bled often through my pregnancy and it was bloody/muddy as you say. It's most likely normal discharge but if it would makeyou feel more peaceful, go and get it checked out. It's important for you to feel relaxed and informed asmuch as humanly possible.

Hey starangelk hope you are doing okay.

I had spotting with my ds at 16 weeks which totally freaked me out at the time but everything was completely fine.

As heather said, getting your hcg levels checked is a good way to check how things are going. If you have your bloodtest they can usually give you the results the next day.

But so far everyhting is going along well, I would say try not too worry but I know it' not possible, will talk more in the due date group I'm sure .... like the others say get BT done, it helps ease your mind for a day or two until you get another one done.that all will be okay.

Thanks everyone Went and had the BT this morning so just waiting until the Dr's appt this arv Sorry for TMI butI am confused about what the result is going to bring. The reason being I have been bleeding fairly heavily since Tuesday afternoon, but really only passing clots and watery blood. It sounds strange but not really enough to fill a padf or anything like I have read about when miscarriage occurs. I think I am just using this as my clutching straw though because I have been having cramps and I know that can't be a good sign. It's just a waiting game really. Thank goodness for all of your support and the fact I am ridiculously busy at the moment - the time is passing relatively quickly.

Oh starangelk *fingers crossed for you!*

I have had spotting with this pregnancy too, every two weeks i get a little but is the same muddy colour, no pain or cramps and my boobies are still sore. I also had back pain which worried me a little. I went to the hospital the first time it happened at 7 weeks (as I have lost a little one in the past and it started like this) and the hospital sent me home and told me to get an ultrasound soon. So after many a telephone argument with staff at Symbion and my doctors we finally got in 2 days later and everything was ok. What blew me away was how common bleeding is in pregnancy, I couldn't believe how many women I know that have had this happen and it's all been ok!

We're all thinking about you starangelk!
