Question 7 weeks-bleeding, light period ache and 2 clots

Hi girls, here is my story, I am wondering what to do next.
We were trying for our third baby, did preconception care and everything so were confident this pregnancy would go well as with my other two. I have 2 beautiful boys -6and 4yrs. I should be 8 weeks on Friday but last Friday at 7 weeks, I saw brown spotting in my knickers when I was changing for bed. I put on a pad and in the morning there were about 5 spots. I stayed in bed all day reading and staring out the window trying to keep calm. I bled a bit more but I tried not to be that worried.
On Sun, I still stayed in bed all day as I was still bleeding and I had a mild ache in my lower belly unless I lay in a certain position. It wasn't like labor or even severe it was just a mild ache and when I lay a certain way, it would stop. The bleeding was worse that day.
I spent Monday at my best friend's house as she has had 5 m/c's and she was helping me thru, on Monday night I lost another clotty thing about 1/2 the size of my palm.
I'm still bleeding but only lightly now and I still have the mild ache in my belly that I've had the whole pregnancy. I don't know what to do next. I did a pregnancy test today-Wed which is 5 days after I started bleeding and it's still positive. I would be 8 weeks on Friday which is 2 days from now. I've been reading stories of ppl bleeding and passing clots and their babies being ok but I dont want to get my hopes up. I cant understand why my baby would have died as I did everything I could to be healthy. Also everything I've read on m/c says the pain is severe and mine was far from severe, it was a mild ache. i dont know...

ps does anybody know if you can self refer to get an ultrasound without needing a Dr? I don't have one and don't want one at this point without researching more into them but I think I want an ultrasound maybe. I live in a Perth suburb. Thank you for your help.

Babe I would b calling my hossy n having a chat wit the birth unit or even going in to the ED just to make sure it's nothing
Sometimes u can have spotting as ur body cleansout the junk ur period would normally do
In saying that though sometimes small clots can appear but to have one the size of half ur hand is a lil bit more worrying
Pls go get checked out asap u really need to have this looked out in case it's not even preg related
Also I don't think u can do self referral for u/s I know during preg Medicare only allow a certain amount for preg unless there is a real prob n u need them n even then u have to have a letter justifying it
Babe go to any dr if ur jus looking for a referral any dr will if they know wat is happening
Or go to the hospital n they will do everything there
Hun it's not ur fault if u have ur body could b the healthiest in the world n still m/c
Don't blame urself nothing u do or think could make it ur fault
Hopefully everything is fine n ur bubs is healthy as can be
    Keep us updated xox

Definitely get checked. My gp was more concerned about the bleeding being an ectopic pg than a m/c.

Mine turned out to be a missed m/c tho only measured 5 wks at 7 weeks. My m/c was just like an extra clotty period.. not much pain. And it can take a while for hcg levels to drop too. Unfortunately m/c happen even when we've done everything right

I truly hope everything is ok for you. I had muddy brown bleeding for over a week with my Ds so like you say it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Will be thinking of you *hug*

    Oh sweets....
If you go to the hospital they can do a quick scan to see how bub is, they shouldnt send you home without knowing whats going on, as PP said, it could be ectopic.

Praying all is well babe, but please get checked to be on the safe side lovey... xoxoxoxo

Sometimes women can bleed a bit around when their period would normally be due, so that could've been it...or perhaps there was 2 bubba's in there...The quickest way to find out for sure would be a scan, you could just head into KEMH and say you're 8 weeks pregnant but you've had some concerning bleeding, they should do a scan for you. Or I can email you the details for my doctor, he bulk bills and is pretty good once you understand his thick accent

I think a HPT will still show positive at this point, but if you would prefer not to scan, waiting a couple of weeks and testing again might tell you something.

PS - I think we know each other

    Update

Hi girls, thanku all so much for your help and kindness, I eventually went in for a scan a week later and it was all gone

So, it's been a few weeks and I'm feeling much better, I was so angry at first because everything had just happened exactly how i wanted, and then, it was all gone..just like that.
I am moving forward, hubby and I have made a plan to lose about 16kgs in the next 16 weeks, then we will start our four months of preconception care, and try again in August. I have lost 7kgs already since i got pregnant woop! so I'm well on my way.
I am going to name my baby, even tho we didn't know the sex, Keike gave me the idea, and we will plant a tree and have a ceremony too, as the kids were very excited and attached already too.
Once again, thanku so much xx

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now darl

    7kgs already - that's brilliant!

That's great about naming your baby, and the ceremony. I feel so much better now that we've named ours but I hafta admit, I haven't told anyone except for you IRL. I know some people won't understand it and may laugh at it, and I'm not ready for that yet. But now I know they'll have names when I meet them again in the near future Just think, our kids are gonna be the same age!

i know! how cool is that??! I'm thinking of Oxana, or maybe Lilli-Star, but thats not very gender neutral is it?? problem is, I'm a very gender specific namer!! oh well, back to thinking...
As far as not telling anyone about the names 1. I feel very honored that you told me and 2. If ppl r rude, they aren't worth your time, you have to do what gets you thru and for us, we know we are going to get them back, so it's nice for us to remember them individually, especially if there's more than one.

LOL, not very neutral I googled 'unique baby names' and 'unisex baby names' if that helps, was surprised at how many cool ones were there.

Are you gonna be hanging around here long enough to get as addicted as me?
