    Bleeding and freaking out!

I have had spotting bleeding throughout this pregnancy but had none for about a week, well that was until just now! just went to the toilet and when wiped alot of pink mucousy blood! It scares me so much. The thing that makes it even more painful is DH is away for the long weekend and not contactable at all! I just want him to give me a hug and tell me all is ok. Mum is coming down for the weekend but it's not the same.

I just want bub to be ok!

    forgot to add i'm 11weeks

Can you call you DR? I bled from 4 weeks to 15 weeks and would get a scan if i was worried. do you have this option?

I hope having your mum there will help you to relax until DH gets home

Em, I am so sorry that you are having more bleeding. Is it enough to put on a pad? If it is just blood tinged mucus it is probably nothing to worry about. Have your scans given you any reason behind the bleeds?

I know how hard it is Em, I had bleeding with DD1, whenever AF would have been due, if I lifted or carried anything to heavy couldn't even push a trolley and get the shopping out. Maybe TMI bit I found sometimes the pushing when going to the loo would cause a bleed too. Hope it stops soon, its worse when dh isn't around, hope your mum can keep you distracted.

Tanya: thanks, no not enough to use pad, just when i wipe- but any blood to me is alot lol. you have made me feel more calm. u/s at 5weeks5days showed subchrionic whatever its called, but last scan at 8weeks they couldn't see where it was from. I am on aspirin- could that make my cervix more susceptible to bleeding?

    cumpet: thanks hun

Em, i had a SCH and that was what my bleeding was coming from, they didnt find it till i was 8 or 9 weeks, you can pass this totally, so with any hope that is what you have done. x mine was reabsorbed by 15 weeks, some days were heavy bleeding then others nothing at all, this as i said continued for the 15 weeks. i understand how stressful it still is though

I have positive hopes and thoughts for you xx

Oh and with the asprin this could have an impact on the bleeding as i was on clexane, when i stopped or reduced the clexane for a few days under my OB's advise the bleeding stopped!! i wouldnt advise you to stop the asprin without consulting your health care provider but this could be having the impact as to why the bleeding is irregular

    Hi Em
This must be so scary for you
Aspirin reduces your bloods ability to clot. Most people say that it thins you blood and although this is not technically correct it will make it easier to understand what I think is happening.
When you are pregnant the number of small blood vessels in your vagina increases. These blood vessels are easy to damage. Because your blood is a little thinner it is a lot easier for the blood to leak through any damaged blood vessels. To help you understand this imagine a garden hose with a few small holes in it. When you let water run through this hose then it leaks out of the holes. Now if you were to let honey run through the hose it would not leak out because of how the thick the honey is. The damage to the blood vessels in your vagina can be caused by many things including physical exercise or sex. And often we have no idea what has caused the damage.
If your bleeding is only pink and on the toilet paper, and it is not there all the time then the above is what I think is happening to you.
