    hi
I have had a few headaches, and have had 2 panadols for them.Maybe once a week. Is that bad? I have heard it is safe, but is it safe in the first trimester?

I had morphine and pethadine while pg with DS as i broke my foot and had to have an operation so I think you should be OK with the odd panadol.

According to my doctor, Panadol is the safest option during pregnancy, regardless of stage. If you need it, then take it.

i thought it was strange when she told me but apparently after the first 12 weeks you can take panadol but arent supposed to in early pregnancy. she was telling me about this because i asked if it was possible to get the flu vac as im a student nurse & need it but she said i couldnt (i didnt think that i would have been allowed but just wanted to double check it)!

i guess everyone has their own opinions of what you should & shouldnt be taking..its alot like what you shoul & shouldn't eat

Trini - I was told the same thing. If you need a pain killer in early pg you should take asprin, as it isn't as harsh on the developing organs, in particular, the liver. where as the kidney's are generally more developed sooner, and your kidneys do almost all of the work for them....just what I was told.
If you are not using it on a regular basis though I wouldnt worry...But if you keep getting headaches, maybe you should look at why you are getting the headaches

I personally hate the stuff, so never take it anyway

Panadol and panadeine are safe at any time during pregnancy. Just make sure that yo do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours
