Unhappy Brownish discharge 11wks and scared!

I have just discovered a brownish discharge and am really worried as I am only 11 wks along and have lost my last 2 pregnancies to m/c! Has anyone else had anything like this happen?? I am going to the A&E as soon as I can this morning to get checked out as I am so scared!
Please, can anyone give me some good news!

I think brownish discharge is usually old blood so it's likely that everything is OK but I'd still get it checked out with your m/c history. Sending you heaps of

    Hi lj268,

There have been a fair few posts lately about bleeding... from what people have said in those threads and from my own knowledge that a bit of bleeding in the first trimester is pretty normal (I know... how can bleeding be normal??) I had some bleeding around 7 weeks and freaked out and wondered how people could say it was normal! It could be old blood if it is brown and your body is just getting rid of it.

Definatley do get it checked out though... good luck and thinking of you.

Thanks for the sticky vibes satya. I thought that about the brown discharge too, but I will definitely go and get it checked. I will keep my fingers crossed.
    Thanks also daniellec....

Yes hopefully this is just old blood escaping from your body, I think Alan may have mentioned somewhere recently about this happening? Good on you for not hesitating to get it checked out today.

I spotted and bled for 4 weeks between week 5 and 9 of the pregnancy. This is my third and having never experienced this before I thought this would be a m/c. Happy to report that I am now at week 27 and all is well. The Dr and OB could really not explain why this occurred but apparently happens sometimes.

I had spotting (red) at 6 weeks, and brown discharge at 8 weeks when I was pg. the first time they sent me for an u/s, the secod time they said it must just be old blood and everything would be ok, which in my case it was and I now have a healthy 18month old son.

I hope everything is fine. Maybe if you are far along enough they might do a scan and make it your 11/12 week one?

Yeh I had this with both my pregnancies. With the second one it was browner and it was at the 11 week mark as well. All was fine and I went on to have a 9 pound 4 baby and Im 27 weeks now with the second.

I had brown discharge at 7wks with this pg and then a full on bleed (red) at 14wks - but each time to my amazement bubs was nice and healthy and happy, they couldnt tell me what caused the bleeds but so long as baby was ok, i wasnt too fussed. Im now nearly 32wks! Wishing you all the best,
    Lisa

Just thought I should come on and update u all.....went to A&E this morning and luckily my dr was on call. He organised an u/s for me and we went and had it. The u/s said that there was a uterus around 7wks and a gestational sac of around 6 wks, bit of a worry considering that Im 11wks along! I have been very upset ever since and thought that this time I would end up with a beautiful baby around the beginning of January. They do want me to go for a follow up scan in 3-4 days, but I am not hopeful at all.
Sometimes I feel this is payback from when I was young and foolish and fell pregnant 3 times and terminated the pregnancy!!! I will never forget or forgive myself for doing this, but its something that I was not proud of and wish I could turn back time, but then again, I wouldnt have my 5 lovely kids that I have now....
